Some of the big aspects of being Large or larger are that larger creatures take up a larger space (and therefore find it harder to have cover) and weapons sized for Large or larger creatures deal more damage than those meant for Small or Medium creatures. Some Large creatures also have a longer reach than 5 feet, but typically only Huge or Gargantuan creatures have extended reaches (for example, the Large ogre has a reach of 5 feet, but the Huge hill giant has a reach of 10 feet).
