Stub Logo.png This page is incomplete and/or lacking flavor. Reason: Missing History, and weight modifier. Fluff that is here, is simple. Darkvision, and flying speed doesn't fully illustrate the 'flavor' and 'feeling' of the race.

Scales.png This page is of questionable balance. Reason: This race could have 1 or 2 more traits. Unrestricted flying speed is iffy. See the 5e Race Design Guide.

Sylph[edit]

A shy girl walked up to the djinni and softly muttered to get the elemental's attention. She, the girl, was petite and quite slim looking with silky, shimmering fey wings. The djinni looked at her with a raised eyebrow.

"Off to the material plane, again? This is the third trip you've told me about. Just. Go. Already!"

The girl softly replied, being quite shy. For she was a Sylph, after all.

"Every time I tell you, it's to let your daughter know you didn't even think to come."

And with that, the sylph stepped out from the plane of air and into the Material Plane, leaving the djinn behind for the third time.

Physical Description[edit]

Sylphs are petite compared to humans and anywhere from slightly skinny to scrawny looking. They can have any appearance possible for a human as eye and hair color go. They bear silky, glimmering wings that feel like gossamer.

They have great beauty that is not enchanting but is charismatic.

As far as clothing goes, they love light-weight and loose fabrics with a silky feel and dainty and light jewelry. The jewelry is bright and can be simple or complex.

History[edit]

Society[edit]

Sylphs are wanderers and explorers by nature, traveling far and wide from their airy homes, often as quickly as possible. There is a "sylphmeet" every 28 years, where sylphs gather to exchange stories and treasure. Sylphs appear to reproduce via a small, pearly egg that hatches into a child, and they will make nests not unlike bird's nests when preparing to lay that egg.

Sylph Names[edit]

Sylph typically do not receive names but choose them from either a race or culture they encounter in their travels or from an admired part of nature. Sylph also do not believe any names are gendered, and will take any names they enjoy.

Examples: Sunset, Rain, Forest, Fire
