Suppressor (5e Equipment)

From D&D Wiki

Jump to: navigation, search

A suppressor is a detachable device which, as an action, can be mounted on the barrel or muzzle of modern firearms. Suppressors reduce the muzzle flash of a firearm, and not only reduce the sound of a firearm but change it so that it doesn't make a firearm's distinctive sonic "crack" while fired. This makes it difficult to find a suppressed weapon's shooter. Suppressors do not actually make a firearm silent - someone within 120 feet of a suppressed shot can still easily hear it - but it does make a firearm easy on the ears. This can be invaluable in an enclosed or urban environment, where suppressors see the most use.

If you make an attack with a suppressed weapon while you are hidden, you do not automatically give away your location.
