Stargazer Agent[edit]

Becoming a Stargazer Agent[edit]

Stargazer is a reputable guild located in Sigil. Their members has agents travelling from realm to realm, from crystal sphere to another crystal sphere. The Stargazer agent blends arcane, divine, or psionic power with combat prowess, mastering the art of traveling the endless void. To qualify for the Stargazer Agent prestige class, a character must be invited by another Stargazer senior member to join the guild and be granted the surname of Stargazer. He/she shall meet the following prerequisites:

Entry Requirements
Alignment: Any non-evil.
Skills: Knowledge (Psionics/Arcane) 8 ranks, Knowledge (The Planes) 8 ranks, Profession (Pilot) 5 ranks.
Feats: One of the following: Psionic - Psionic Weapon or Speed of Thought; Arcane - Combat Casting or Spell Focus (any school); Divine - Leadership or any divine domain-specific feat (e.g., Sun Domain’s Greater Turning).
Spellcasting: Must be able to cast 2nd-level arcane or divine spells, or manifest 2nd-level psionic powers.
Special: The character must have experience with astral travel, void environments, or Spelljammer vessels (DM's discretion)..

Class Features[edit]

Bonus Feat: At 1st level and 5th level, Stargazer gains a bonus feat. This bonus feat must be selected from one of the following categories: Arcane: Metamagic feats (e.g., Extend Spell, Quicken Spell), Item Creation feats (e.g., Craft Wondrous Item), or Combat Casting; or Divine: Domain-specific feats (e.g., Improved Turning, Divine Might), Item Creation feats, or general combat feats; or Psionic: Psionic feats (e.g., Psionic Meditation, Psionic Weapon, Up the Walls); or chooses from the followings: Craft Spelljamming Helm (item creation), Spelljamming Helm Proficiency, Spelljamming Ship Specification, Ramming Focus, Ramming Specialization, Weapon Focus (Heavy Weapon), Weapon Specialization (Heavy Weapon), Improved Critical (Heavy Weapon), Rapid Reload (Heavy Weapon).

Astral Navigator: The Stargazer Agents are an expert at navigating the astral and cosmic void. At 1st level, he/she gains a +4 competence bonus on Knowledge (The Planes), Knowledge (Wildspace), Pilot, and Survival checks related to astral or void navigation.

Spellcasting/Manifesting: At 2nd level and thereafter, Stargazer gains increased casting or manifesting ability as if he/she had gained a level in a previous spellcasting or manifesting class. The character must choose which class to progress if he/she has more than one. This progression includes: - Arcane: Spell slots, caster level, and spells known for classes like Wizard or Sorcerer. - Divine: Spell slots, caster level, and domain progression for classes like Cleric or Druid. - Psionic: Power points, manifester level, and powers known for classes like Psion or Psychic Warrior.

Void Combat: Starting from 2nd level, Stargazer suffers no penalties to attack rolls or movement in zero-gravity or low-gravity environments. In addition, Stargazer is immune to disorientation effects caused by weightlessness and can move freely without requiring Balance or Tumble checks.

Shipmind Link: Starting from 3rd level, the Stargazer establishs a magical or psionic link with a Spelljammer ship. While aboard a Spelljammer ship, the Stargazer can sense the ship’s condition, including speed, structural integrity, and damaged sections.

Spelljammer Gunnery: A Stargazer Agent can channel his/her magical or psionic energy into Spelljammer weapon systems. As a swift action, by expending 1 spell slot, a 1st level prepared spell, or 1 power point, he/she can empower ship weapons (such as ballistae or catapults) by 2d6 damage extra damage. If he/she expends 2 spell slots, a 1st level prepared spell or two 1st level prepared spells, or 2 power points, he/she can enhance a ship weapon attack a +2 bonus to hit and +2d6 bonus damage.


NPC Reactions: The primary reaction from Sigil and spacefarers NPC towards Stargazer Agent is awe due to the reputation of the guild.

Stargazer Agent Lore[edit]

The Stargazer guild is well known in Sigil. Characters from the other campaigns with ranks in Knowledge or Gather Information can research to learn more about them. When a character makes a skill check, read or paraphrase the following, including information from lower DCs.

20 It is one of the guilds in Sigil city. Their reputation is good alignment. Characters can ask for their assistant with a price.
25 The agents work in small teams with a senior member as a team leader. They provide services for good. Usually, they will accept escort mission or hunting down an evil creatures.
40 Their ultimate purpose is looking for a secret demiplane with the reason unknown.
