Soulect (5e Race)

As an orc attempts to strike down a human a small rock fly through it's head. A shadowy figure with horns steps into the light surrounded by floating rocks.
A soulect looks like their host with two horns that grow from their head around 10 years old for a human host they can also have tails.
not much is know about the history of the Soulect's. some believe that they were cultists attempting to obtain eternal life others belive that their souls taken by devils trying to return. what is know is the nature of the soulect. Their soul eat the soul of a newborn then take place it's place. when a soulect's host dies their soul repeats the cycle with vague memory's of their past live. Children of soulects usually grow up to have psionic powers.
Soulects don't have a society they live in their hosts society until their horn and or tail grow in and then are usually abandoned

Race Name Traits
Ability Score Increase. Your Intelligence score increases by 2 and one ability score of your choice increases by 1.
Age. Soulect's live as long as their host would
Alignment. A soulect can be any alignment
Size. Your size is Medium.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Darkvision. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
Parasitic Soul. Soulect have no true physical form so when you make a character with using a soulect you have to choose a host race. their host are most commonly dwarf's, elf's, halfling's, human's, gnome's, and half-elf's taking on the appearance and life span of the host. A soulect's soul can never be taken by a fiend
Psionic power. You gain the ability to cast mage hand with the mage hand being invisible and mind sliver without verbal somatic or material components Your the casting modifier is intelligence. you need to provide casting components if your horns are broken
Odd mind. you have resistance to psychic damage
Soul link. as an action you can mentally speak to as many creatures as your proficiency modifier within 60 feet of you that share a language you speak. When you do this they can respond one word or an emotion.
Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common, infernal and one other language of your choice.
