Geographic Area[edit]

Solapur sits on the northern bank of Fear Bay (aka Phobos Bay) where the Sol River enters the bay. Solapur is a sea water port. It is on the southern side of the Huygen Peninsula. To the north of the city is a packed dirt road to Guntur. Down the bay, westward between the Bamberg and Dwagoold Mountain Rangers is Fair River, the ruins of Phobos, and ancient ruins of Bamberg.

Imports, Exports, and Resources[edit]

Solapur has abundant natural resources. Solapur trades with Taur’res salt water fish from the Phobos Bay and salt. Taur’res trades hard-gray-stone, silver, and horses and passes resources on from Jodpur, Washim, Solapur, and Guntur.

History[edit]

In 250 C.E., the Human warlord Zunthar Loremaster founds the city of Solapur. In 288 C.E., Solapur Castle is made of hard-gray-stone with a double-ring wall and fifteen catapult towers. In 316 C.E., Green Flower is dedicated to God Theros, the Summer Minor God. In 335 C.E., Shaelong declared Emperor and Taur'res capitol city. Twelve Grand Wizards are declared Dukes. In 346 C.E., Emperor Shaelong subjugates the Human city of Solapur under the Empire.

Government[edit]

The King of Solapur is Dragonborn cleric of Klas’modeus (evil cult of the Fire God Theezine) Joachim Threeclaws the Victorious. The King has two palaces, one in Taur'res and one in Solapur. The palace in Solapur is known as the Sun Palace. Within his court is Duke Henbeddester Wolf, Duchess Rowena Singelton, Baron Iago Shaddleholder, Baron Meilyre Stepkore, Baron Bowen Mason, and Baron Ellis Slan.

Henbeddester Wolf, a Human paladin, is the Duke of Wolf’s Lair. He is accountable to King Joachim Threeclaws of Solapur. Wolf’s Lair is the castle of Henbeddester Wolf. The castle is a stone fortress with Barbican and Demi-Culverin Towers.

Iago Saddleholder is the Baron of Tuff Hill. He is accountable to Duke Wolf and King Threeclaws of Solapur. Tuff Hill Castle is the keep of Baron Iago Saddleholder. The castle is a stone fortification with Ring Wall and Catapult Towers.

Meilyre Stepkore is the Baron of Stone Step. He is accountable to Duke Wolf and King Threeclaws of Solapur. Stone Step Castle is the keep of Baron Meilyre Stepkore. The castle is a stone fortification with Curtain Wall and Ballista Towers.

Rowena Singleton, a female Human fighter, is the Duchess of Balls Light. She is accountable to King Joachim Threeclaws of Solapur. Balls Light Keep is the castle of Duchess Rowena Singelton. The castle is a stone fortress with Barbican.

Bowen Mason is the Baron of Mason’s Keep. He is accountable to Duchess Singleton and King Threeclaws of Solapur. Mason’s Keep is the keep of Baron Bowen Mason. The castle is a stone fortification with Ring Wall and Catapult Towers.

Ellis Slan is the Baron of Sola’s Light. He is accountable to Duchess Singleton and King Threeclaws of Solapur. Sola’s Light Castle is the keep of Baron Ellis Slan. The castle is a stone fortification with Curtain Wall and Ballista Towers.

Culture[edit]

The Empire's culture is a melting pot of minor cultures. Primarily, the Empire is a society based on domination and is centered around the Emperor as a victory cult figure. Dorinth is an Empire dominated by Humans but also incorporating Dragonborn, Tiefling, enslaved Dwarves, Goblins, Orcs, and Lizardfolk.

Fashion is hard-leathers high boots, pants, and shirts with thick wool cloaks.

Although the basic common language is common, the northern continent has a distinctive accent that is recognizable with a Perception DC 10.

  3. Dock: The weathered wood salt water docks are on the south side of the city on the bay. The salt water docks are on the Fear Bay (aka Phobos Bay) shore and are home to 70 fishing/transport boats with 7 military boats.
  4. Mason’s Keep is the keep of Baron Bowen Mason. The castle is a stone fortification with Ring Wall and Catapult Towers.
  5. Mills and Shops: There are 4 Mills and many Blacksmith's Workshops, Tanner's Workshops, Weaver's Workshops, Granaries, Bakeries, and Breweries.
  6. Outside the hard-gray-stone walls of Solapur are lumber camps, houses, fields and farms of apple orchards and vineyards, wheat, corn, oats, and barley with various livestock.
  7. Sola’s Light Castle is the keep of Baron Ellis Slan. The castle is a stone fortification with Curtain Wall and Ballista Towers.
  8. Solapur Castle is made of hard-gray-stone with a double-ring wall and fifteen catapult towers.

Guilds and Brotherhoods: There are several international organizations that transcend culture and race. The international organizations are very loosely organized. Merchant Guild is an international organization of buyers and seller whose symbol is a stack of coins. Librarian Guild is an international organization of book lovers and organizers (librarians) whose symbol is an open book with a colorful rainbow. Scribe Guild is an international organization of scribes and writers whose symbol is feather pen and unrolled scroll. Thespian Guild of actors, jesters, and bards whose symbol is an Elven ‘Th’ letter. Brotherhood of Smiths is an international organization of metal smith workers whose symbol is two small hammers and an anvil. Brotherhood of Builders is an international organization of stone masons and wood carpenters whose symbol is three straight lines with a vertical tree branch. Brotherhood of Gladiators is an international organization of gladiators whose symbol is a red drop of blood.

Thieves' Guilds: The main thieves' guild is headquartered in Taur'res and has government sponsorship. The main guild is known as The Emperor's Hand. The Emperor's Hand is a thieves' guild, assassin's guild, spy network for Emperor Shaelong, and secret police of the twelve Grand-Wizard Counts.

Wizard Schools: Within the Empire, there are no large organized wizard schools. However, throughout the land are innumerable independent wizard to wizard mentoring and training. Throughout the land are many individual wizard towers who contain powerful wizards and warlocks and their pupils.

Temples and Chapels: The Minor Gods are honored throughout the Empire of Dorinth. Solapur is dedicated to and has a temple to God Theros, the Summer Minor God, known as the Green Flower, with 15 clerics.

Army Special Forces: The military uniform colors are mostly red and white trim with a black capital ‘S’. Each Duke and Baron has his own troops, normally named after the keep in which they serve. The city is patrolled by the Town Militia 100 men along with 480 soldiers (a Cohorts included 6 centuriae or a total of 480 fighting men).

Solapur Soldiers of 500 soldiers (a Cohorts included 6 centuriae or a total of 480 fighting men) are light infantry in leather armor and short swords. The Solapur Soldiers have six Centurions [insignia of four feathers on a copper circle with silver perimeter] and one commanding Legatus Legionis (the overall Legionary commander whose insignia is of an attacking hawk on a gold circle). Legatus Legionis Lanswore Greenleaf is the leader of the Solapur Soldiers.

Knight Orders:

Count Epidemic is one of the twelve Soul-Killer-Grand-Wizard Dukes, who are part of the Council of Victory that advices the Emperor. Each of the twelve Grand Wizard Dukes has its own Knight Order (available to heavy-armored cavalry, paladins, fighters, warlords). Each Knight Order is a cult of victory, so that, the most victorious fighter is head of the Knight Order and leadership is determined through trial-by-combat. This Count’s Knight Order is the Two Fangs. Two Fangs Tower is the home and fortress of the Count and headquarters of his Knight Order. Josh Meter, a Human warlord, is the Blood Champion and the head of Knight Order. The Tower is also a Wizard School with library and university.

Count Misery is one of the twelve Soul-Killer-Grand-Wizard Dukes, who are part of the Council of Victory that advices the Emperor. The Count is above all kings and is accountable directly to the Emperor. In 335 C.E., the year that Shaelong is declared Emperor is the year that Emperor Shaelong appointed Twelve Grand Wizards are declared Dukes. The Counts are something other than a normal human. This Count’s Knight Order is the Black Death. Black Death Tower is the home and fortress of the Count and headquarters of his Knight Order. Shannon Fallon, a Human warlord, is the Blood Champion and the head of Knight Order. The Tower is also a Wizard School with library and university.
