Wondrous Item, legendary (requires attunement)
A shadow symbiont is a living shadow or a second skin that feeds of the user's mind.
When you become attuned to the Shadow Symbiont you gain 1 level of exhaustion.
Whenever you finish a short or long rest, the user must make a DC 16 Constitution saving throw or take 2d8 physic damage which may not be reduced in any way.
While attuned to the shadow, a creature gains the following:
- Advantage on all Dexterity (Stealth) checks as the shadow absorbs the ambient light from around the creature.
- Whenever you are damaged by a melee attack, you may use your reaction to make the shadow negate the damage taken. Roll 1d20, and on a roll of 11 or higher the damage is negated. Each time the shadow negates damage, the DC is increases by 2. (example: after blocking 3 hits successfully the DC is 17) At dawn, the DC is reset back to 11.
- Your melee attack deal 1d6 additional necrotic damage.
