Separatist Droids[edit]

Physical Description[edit]

While every separatist droid series is unique in its own right, many share similarities with the original, the B1. Things like general form, the somewhat barebones limbs, and clean, solid plating.

The B1 Series Battle Droid is by far one of the most simple versions of the Separatist's droid models. Their generally tan bodies have smaller, nearly wireframe limbs, with nothing much beyond the basic plating and servos. Their necks, bent towards their backs, carry the pill-esc head, two black dots cut into semicircles for eyes.

The B2 Series Battle Droid is a large departure from the first. The entire upper body is fused, with both the arms and chest bulky enough to deflect some laser weapons. Within one armrest a small artillery battery worth of firepower, generally fitted with a laser weapon and small rockets.

The T Series Tactical Droid, while carrying many signs of being related to the B1, is a very different beast. Their legs are much larger, if only to support the supercomputer which resides in their chests, the large vent in the center in order to allow cooling. The head almost resembles a bird, with a beak-like "mouth" and eyes at the sides.

The BX Series Droid Commando is one of the better designs, fitted for more tactical operations. It carries much of the design philosophy of the B1 with its many similar parts, but where it begins to differ is the general shape. This allows them to wear most equipment that humans can, which allowed infiltration of Republic bases.

The IG MagnaGuard is one of the tallest, most defensive styles of droid. Featuring extra articulated arms, broad armored shoulders, and a much more menacing head, it is an intimidating force on the battlefield. Within the center of their chest is a bright red light, matching the eyes.

The ST Series Super Tactical Droid is a direct evolution of the T Series Tactical Droid. They have the same supercomputer residing in their chests which has been upgraded, as well they have a much larger more imposing heavier armored body. They still have an almost bird-like head with the beak-like "mouth" being more vulture-like. They also now have three glowing eyes instead of two.

History[edit]

With these new battle droids we've built for you, you'll have the finest army in the galaxy.

During a long period of peace in the Republic, there were multiple planets that were fearing corruption of the Republic, believing that, in due time, it would fall apart. Its leaders included ex-members that had left the Republic Senate, and new leaders from planets previously unrepresented in the Republic. Eventually. it led to a rebellion against the Republic and that's where history truly starts.

With the abandonment of the republic. All security went out of the window, and they quickly became public enemy number one. But, using a combination of the preexisting security droids like the B1 and the massive amount of funds supplemented by the Trade Federation and the Techno Union, gigantic factories like the Geonosian droid factories were set in motion to mass-produce the existing B1 security droids, while the droid research and creation facility Baktoid Combat Automata started to create more war based droids. Some of these projects included the B2, The T-series, and the BX-series droid commando. Which after their original models were made by that company started to also get mass-produced. But, due to the cost of these droids never to the B1's extent.

IG-100 MagnaGuards have a unique history. Not being created by Baktoid Combat Automata but instead the renowned assassin droid creation company Holowan Laboratories, Specifically made to be the personal bodyguards and training partners for one of the galaxy's strongest warriors, General Grievous after he complained that no droid could ever match his former species warriors. They were created to be worthy competitors even to the most skilled Jedi. And were tediously trained by General Grievous himself and by the data he had provided.

ST Series Super Tactical Droids also have a unique history, these droids were created as a response to the T Series Stubbornness and inflexibility as well as being generally more upgraded to be even more intelligent than its predecessor. These droids were seen as peak commanders. To the point where they were allowed to lead full droid garrisons without organic overseers. Leading to some droid garrisons surviving for years after the main war still being solo led by them.

Society[edit]

During the clone wars, the droids made by the Separatists never really had anything in the way of a society, as they were strictly the military force created by them. Those that deserted or were abandoned, the former significantly less likely than the latter, were likely to be shunned by most of society, as at the time they were considered nothing more than the enemy.

Most droids designed by the separatists have been destroyed or lost since the clone wars, and as such, you’ll have difficulty finding any in the modern age. However, those that remain find good usage, whether as guards, assistants, pilots, or many other things.

Attitudes and Beliefs[edit]

While created stoic and emotionless, droids form a semblance of a personality after existing for a while. And while the exact personality is different from droid to droid there are some common tendencies that are based on their model.

B1 Series Battle Droid's have a tendency to be chatty, friendly, and a little Innocent in a weird way. Usually while not engaging with an enemy they seem polite and genuinely inquisitive and interested in talking to people. They also seem to rattle on with small talk, to the annoyance of some of their superiors.

B2 Series Battle Droid's usually don't really show off their personality besides being a hulking brute, these models seem the most stoic out of all of them.

T-Series Tactical Droid's are usually quite confident in themselves and their intelligence, to the point of extreme arrogance. These droids believe themselves to be way superior to everyone around them thanks to their intelligence. They are quite matter of fact. They hate the unexpected. And prefer cold and calculated moves to emotional ones. They are incredibly arrogant and stubborn even to a fault. Shutting down anyone who questions their intelligence with quotes like: "I am a droid, I am always right."

ST-Series Super Tactical Droids while still extremely confident in themselves these models have way more tact and are more often able to see their errors and accept advice. They still believe themselves superior. And still have some arrogance and stubbornness but to a way more manageable degree. They still prefer cold and calculated moves to emotional ones but they understand emotions better and are usually more of a team player than their predecessor.

BX-Series Droid Commando's are professional, they are designed to be assassins and act like ones too. They really speak and usually like to act instead. They do seem to be slightly cruel and sadistic preferring to execute enemies in more personal and cruel ways when possible.

IG-100 MagnaGuards take after the one they were made for a lot. They seem to have the Same Warrior pride as General Grievous and take great pride in winning duals against what they consider worthy opponents. They honor traditions and train meticulously while striving to become the most powerful droids in the galaxy. Those are about the only things that they have in common. They pride themselves on their individuality and the fact that no two are the same.

Separatist Droids Names[edit]

While a droid may appear or seem more masculine or feminine, they aren't really named as such, or named for that matter. A normal "name" for them is more likely a model, squad, or battalion number. Although, those that left the Separatist's legions, one way or another, sometimes adopt or are given a name.

Numbers: B1-268, B2-347, BX-097

Names: Doctor, Clanker, Rodger

Separatist Droid Traits[edit]

Roger roger.
Ability Score Increase. Your Constitution score increases by 1.
Age. As a droid, you are built mature, and to last. They can live for hundreds, if not thousands of years, if they don't meet an early end. Routine maintenance and avoidance of places like deserts and swamps play a large part in this.
Alignment. While most robots are inherently lawful, especially the mechanical legions of the Separatists, as they are designed to follow orders, some variation remains. Some of the more sentient droids, like the B1 and T Series, seem to lean more into chaotic tendencies, the B2 and IG heavier into lawful, and BX firmly as neutral. These tendencies mostly occur when outside of command.
Size. Size and weight varies heavily from droid to droid, but they all tend to be roughly similar in height. Your size is Medium.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Construct. You are immune to diseases. You do not need to eat or breathe, and you can't ingest food and drinks. You don't need to sleep, and magic can't put you to sleep. Instead of sleeping, you enter an inactive state for 4 hours each day. You do not dream in this state; you are fully aware of your surroundings and notice approaching enemies and other events as normal.
Mendable. When the mending spell is cast on you, it has the following alterations: It has a casting time of 1 action. If you have 0 hit points you become stable. For each level of the spell slot expended you regain an additional 1d8 hit points.
