The savannah ant scouts are the male drones who scout for new hives and for needed food supplies, they generally harass their foes by spitting globs of acid at them. Their mandibles are only for eating. The savannah ant scout has long, razor-sharp saber-like pincers that it opens up to deliver flyby attacks. Savannah ant scouts eat poisonous leaves and plants as part of their diet and have developed a resistance to poison.
