Rogern[edit]

"Rogern are known as excellent warriors and builders their cities can match up with some of our less noteworthy Dwarven Halls. Also, their crystals go for a fair price, that's if you can get any."

-Adrik Iornfist, traveling dwarf merchant.

Physical Description[edit]

Rogern are golem-like rock creatures. All Rogern have large amounts of large crystals on their backs and on their upper arms, they also have a range of many colors. Most males have darker, and less vibrant colored crystals. While Rogern females have less number of crystals but they are more vibrant, much brighter colored crystals than their male counterparts. Rogern males due to the large amounts of crystals on their backs all hunch over whenever they stand. Rogern females are much smaller than males and do not have the iconic hunch of the males.

History[edit]

The first Rogern were created when a rock elemental used powerful magic to form several crystalline eggs, and after several decades the young Rogren that hatched from them became the first males and females that formed the first Rogern tribes. Since being created by the rock elemental many Rogern have elemental abilities. With these abilities, they had created grand caverns in the earth where the first matriarchs had their tribes live. Many of said caverns were inside large mountain rangers much like the Dwarven holds. Do to their underground homes the dwarves had eventually found the Rogren and a period tense standoff the leaders of the two factions had a meet and started a decade-long alliance of the Dwarves and the Rogren. Although many tribes have fallen during the years some of the oldest tribes have a recorded history from the time before the human nations existed. these record are grand pictures carved into the sides of a tribes home cavern. these carving show the history of the tribe and any events that unfold during the time the tribe is around are recorded. So many scholars travel to Rogren tribes to read the great amount of history that is within their walls.

In the most recent of times, many of the smaller Rogern tribes have been forced out of their home caverns and have come together under the leadership of matriarch Grenda Shacarn in the Sunset mountains caverns. These tribes came together to try and defend themselves against a great orc invasion of the Rogern caverns. The orc had always had a greedy eye on the Rogern crystals but they were always pushed back by Rogern and Dwarven forces before, but now the relations have been soured between the once close allies the Orc had taken this opportunity to attack the Rogern. The Rogren and dwarf partnership has deteriorated over the centuries because a dwarf warlord named Harakaz "Green-Beard" Ulriksnev had stolen several Rogren eggs from a Rogren cavern. The matriarch of this cavern then launched an attack on the warlords hold. The eggs were found destroyed and the warlord, gone. Once news of this spread Rogren stated watching the dwarves much more carefully. This lead to the deterioration of the Rogren-Dwarf partnership. At the current time, the Orc invasion has destroyed over a dozen tribe caverns. With their destruction, many Rogren have fled to above ground cities to escape the Orcs.

Society[edit]

Rogern society runs off a matriarch system, where a female who has a gifted ability to create crystalline eggs are the matriarchs of Rogren society. All matriarchs grow their own tribes after they find a male to mate with. Each tribe focuses mostly on itself but some tribe matriarchs form pacts with each other, which makes each matriarch more influential. The more influence a matriarch has the more fellow Rogern may come to her tribe.

Rogern Names[edit]
