Wondrous Item, uncommon

Ravens are a creature of ill-omen in many a circle. This stems from a special legend involving their feathers, which are curses. One large raven, the Rabinsmutter, had 250 feathers that became the first ravens. Among their nests bred small, magical raven babies whose feathers were curses. People who saw them fell ill, and they were commonly seen in cemeteries, foretelling those who looked at them to be the next to die. Some criminal underworld families use these feathers as symbolic weapons, dropping them on the doorstep of their next targets as a warning. Today, these feathers are used more as inflictors of bad luck. Once used, they vanish and are said to return to the mother raven...

As an action, you can grip this feather and cast bane as a 2nd-level spell. Using this effect expends the feather and it vanishes from your hand once the spell is cast.
