Quincy[edit]

Long ago, the Quincy were an organization of humans capable of detecting the presence of Hollows. However, unlike Shinigami, Quincy completely erase the souls of those they slay rather than purifying them so they return to the afterlife. Due to this, they threatened the balance and separation between dimensions, which would mix life and death together into a world some feared would result in chaos in the end of the world, while others believed it would ultimately free all life from the fear of death. Over a lengthy war, almost every Quincy was killed.

Monk of Destruction[edit]

Quincy powers have been passed down for generations, each one refining and improving upon techniques. Due to this expectation, however, Quincy with a genetic predisposition to powerful abilities are expected to continue their lineage with similar Quincy, which ultimately resulted in the divide between the "noble" Echt Quincy and the "lesser" Gemischt Quincy. Worst of all in Quincy society is a powerless Quincy, many of whom are left to die as children.

A creature may acquire their own Quincy power by dropping to 0 hit points from an attack by a Quincy while made of Kishi and having at least 5 Reiryoku and making a DC 30 Wisdom saving throw. On a success, they can multiclass into this class as their blood is awakened. On a failure, they are killed instantly and can not be resurrected by any means.

Creating a Quincy[edit]

As you build your Quincy, think about character’s background in regards to your Quincy powers: Were your parents traditionalists, or do they not look fondly on Quincy history? Have you had any negative interactions with Shinigami while hunting Hollows, or did you avoid the hunt despite your blood?

Quick Build

Quincy Reiryoku[edit]

At 1st level, you gain the power of a Quincy. You have a number of Reiryoku points equal to your level in this class, and all Reiryoku from this class is regained at the end of a long rest. You can only spend Reiryoku from this class and use this class's features while you are not a soul.

Some of your Quincy features require your target to make a saving throw to resist the feature's effects. The saving throw DC is calculated as follows:

Quincy effect save DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier
Quincy attack modifier = your proficiency bonus + Wisdom modifier

Certain features from this class require the player to create the benefits of a feature. You may instead choose a Schrift example, or use said examples to gain a grasp of the general power such a feature should wield.

Additionally, if you regain Reiryoku from a Hollow or Fullbringer, such as from Atsu Fukugen or Seele, you take 2d6 necrotic damage at the end of each of your turns for every Hollow or Fullbringer Reiryoku you have.

Spiritual Awareness[edit]

At 1st level, while you have at least 1 Reiryoku, you can sense and interact with souls normally.

Quincy Technique[edit]

At 1st level, you gain one Quincy Technique, all detailed at the end of this class description. You gain an additional Quincy Technique at 9th, 17th, 26th, and 37th level.

Reiatsu[edit]

At 2nd level, you begin emitting spiritual pressure exceeding that of a normal soul. You may spend 1 Reiryoku at the beginning of your turn to release your Reiatsu until the beginning of your next turn, learning the direction from you of each creature within 30 feet and each of their proficiency bonuses, and if a creature's proficiency bonus is half your own or lower they take bludgeoning damage equal to your level.

At 29th level, the range this feature targets is doubled.

Bogensperling[edit]

At 2nd level, as an action for 1 Reiryoku, you may summon your Bogensperling; a magic weapon made of gathered Reishi. You may dematerialize your Bogensperling as a bonus action, and it automatically dematerializes when you fall unconscious or summon it again. Your Bogensperling is a simple ranged weapon with the ranged (80/320) and two-handed properties that deals 1d6 + half your level + your Dexterity modifier piercing damage on a hit.

Spiritual Expertise[edit]

At 3rd level, you chose a field in which to hone your spirit. Choose one Spiritual Expertise. Your choice grants you features at 7rd level, and again at 11th, 15th, 18th, 23rd, 27th, 32st, 35th, and 38th level.

Ability Score Improvement[edit]

When you reach 4th level, and again at 8th, 12th, 16th and 19th level, you can increase one ability score of your choice by 2, or you can increase two ability scores of your choice by 1. As normal, you can't increase an ability score above 20 using this feature.

When you reach 24th level, and again at 28th level, you can increase your ability scores by a total of 3 points to a maximum of 30. When you reach 32nd level, and again at 36th and 39th level, you can increase your ability scores by a total of 4 points to a maximum of 40.

Silberne Bogensperling[edit]

At 6th level, when you summon your Bogensperling, you may spend 2 additional Reiryoku to improve upon its form, causing it to gain the ranged (150/600) and heavy properties and become a martial ranged weapon, but causing it to deal 1d10 + half your level + your Dexterity modifier piercing damage on a hit.

Heilig Bogen[edit]

At 10th level, when you summon your Bogensperling, you may spend 4 additional Reiryoku to fully solidify it into a personalized form, causing it to gain one of the following, which must be chosen when you take this feature and can not be changed:

  • Shortbow: your Bogensperling gains the ranged (150/600) property and deals 1d10 + half your level + your Dexterity modifier piercing damage on a hit.
  • Handbow: your Bogensperling becomes a martial ranged weapon and gains the light property.
  • Greatbow: your Bogensperling becomes a martial ranged weapon, gains the ranged (300/1200), heavy, and stabilizing properties and deals 2d6 + half your level + your Dexterity modifier piercing damage on a hit.
  • Saber: your Bogensperling becomes a simple melee weapon, loses its ranged property, gains the finesse and versatile properties, and deals 1d8 + your level + your Dexterity modifier slashing damage on a hit while being wielded in two hands, or 1d6 + half your level + your Dexterity modifier slashing damage while being wielded in one hand.
  • Dagger: your Bogensperling becomes a simple melee weapon, loses its ranged property, gains the thrown (80/320), finesse, and light properties, and deals 1d4 + your level + your Dexterity modifier slashing damage on a hit.

Extra Attack[edit]

At 13th level, you may attack twice instead of once when you take the Attack action. This increases to three attacks at 33rd level.

Resistant[edit]

At 14th level, choose one of the following ability scores. When you are subjected to an effect that allows you to make a saving throw of the chosen ability to take only half damage, you instead take no damage if you succeed on the saving throw, and only half damage if you fail.

You may choose a second of the above effects at 34th level.

Schrift[edit]

At 20th level, as a bonus action, you may awaken the power of the blood of the Father of All Quincy that lies dormant within you. All Schrift have their own unique special ability, work along side your DM to decide this ability based on your character's personality.

Shadow[edit]

At 21st level, as an action for 15 Reiryoku, you may teleport yourself and any willing creatures within your Reiatsu radius through your own shadow to any location you can visualize. If you would arrive in a place already occupied by an object or a creature, you and any creatures or objects traveling with you are shunted to the closest unoccupied space.

Beyond Mortal[edit]

At 22nd level, you may add half your proficiency bonus to any saving throws you are not proficient in.

Honed Body and Mind[edit]

At 25th level, your health is unrivaled by any but those on your tier of power and the immortal. The number of levels of exhaustion, as well as gradual blindness, deafness, and numbness required for each effect is doubled, as is your maximum age.

Vollstandig[edit]

At 30th level, as an action while Schrift is active, you may awaken not only the power but the will of your blood, donning wings of his eminence. All Vollstandig have their own unique special ability, work along side your DM to decide this ability based on your character's personality.

In addition to its unique effects, you gain a flying speed equal to your movement speed while Vollstandig is active. If a critical hit is scored against you while Vollstandig is active, it immediately ends as your Heiligenschein, a crystalized manifestation of your power, shatters.

Beyond Vollstandig[edit]

At 40th level, as an action while Vollstandig is active, you may subjugate your blood, awakening an even deeper power. All Beyond Vollstandig have their own unique special ability, work along side your DM to decide this ability based on your character's personality.

Auswahlen

Requires Seele. As a full turn action for 20 Reiryoku, you may force one creature with at least 1 Quincy feature within your Reiatsu radius to attempt a Dexterity saving throw as they are shrouded in a pillar of light. On a failure, they are killed instantly as the flesh is ripped from their bones, and you gain any Quincy features they had and regain Reiryoku equal to your proficiency bonus or hit points equal to your level as you steal the raw energy of their soul; something deeper than Reishi and Kishi. On a success, they can not use Vollstandig or Auswahlen until a clot of "still silver", which forms in their heart the moment this feature targets them and kills them after 48 hours.

The still silver clot can be removed with a 5-hour procedure that ends with a Medicine check with a DC equal to your Quincy save DC. On a failure, they die from complications.
