Quarterstaff Elemental Damage

Prerequisites: The ability to cast at least one spell
You can imbue a quarterstaff you use as your spellcasting focus with elemental magic. Whenever you cast a spell that causes acid, cold, fire, lightning or thunder damage using a quarterstaff as the spellcasting focus, the focus become imbued with magical energy. Your first hit delivered with that quarterstaff until the end of your next turn causes additional damage equal to 1d6 plus the level of the spell slot spent to cast the spell, or just 1d6 if the spell cast was a cantrip.
