Stub Logo.png This page is incomplete and/or lacking flavor. Reason: Is there any chance this could do something more interesting than lots-of-damage. Every high-level damaging spell in the PHB has some interesting twist on the way it works. This is just flat damage.

You can help D&D Wiki by finishing and/or adding flavor to this page. When the flavor has been changed so that this template is no longer applicable please remove this template. Quadon's Intense Pain
9th-level Evocation
Casting time: One Action
Range: Touch
Components: V,S,M (the fang of a venomous snake, and a diagram of the nervous system.)
Duration: instant

You select a nerve in the body of the target. It becomes inflamed as the nerve responds to the venom utilized as one of the material components of this spell.

The target must make a DC 25 Constitution saving throw. If the target succeeds, the venom fades, but the damage is still inflicted. The creature takes 10d10 poison damage, and you cannot use the body part that was targeted. If the chest or face was targeted, the target cannot take actions.

If the target fails, their nerves burn harder and the pain begins to spread. The target takes 15d10 poison damage and must make a DC 20 Constitution saving throw. If they fail this, they fall unconscious and make death saves with disadvantage as the pain becomes unbearable. If they pass, the pain does not spread, but they must roll a third DC20 Constitution saving throw. If the target passes, then the pain temporarily subsides. They must repeat this action at the start of their turn until they drop to 0 hit points, or 5 turns pass. If they fail, they take 20d10 poision damage.
