Prestige System[edit]

Your option of prestige is your very own!

Introduction[edit]

The act of purposefully reducing your level to 1 is known as "Prestiging". You can describe your journey of prestiging by saying "Prestige" followed by the number of times you set yourself to 1st level.

Ex. If you reach 20th level for a 2nd time and reset to 1st level, you are on "Prestige 2".

Prestiging[edit]

Upon reaching 20th level, you become level 1. You keep your physical items, but magical items that require attunement are removed from the game.

Your ability scores are wiped and you must use the Customizing Ability Scores variant rule (Player's Handbook (5e) pg. 13) also known as the point buy system.

Ex. For roleplaying, DM's may decide how they tackle this. Players could receive a book in their inventory that they must sign to prestige.

Prestige 1[edit]

  • When you become level 1, you enter the point buy system with 30 points instead of 27.
  • You choose the 1st level of a class.
  • You gain the ability to have 2 subclasses.
  • Whenever you would gain experience points, you instead gain that much multiplied by 1.25, rounded down.

Prestige 2[edit]

  • When you become level 1 for the 2nd time, you enter the point buy system with 32 points, instead of 30.
  • The natural maximum for your ability scores is now 22, instead of 20.
  • You choose the 1st level of a class you meet the multiclass requirements for.
  • You gain the ability to have 2 subclasses.
  • You choose 1 additional class. You gain a level in that class as well. You do not have to meet the multiclass requirements for this class.
  • Your maximum level increases to 21, instead of 20.
  • Whenever you would gain experience points, you instead gain that much multiplied by 1.5, rounded down.

Prestige 3[edit]

  • When you become level 1 for the 3rd time, you enter the point buy system with 34 points, instead of 32.
  • The natural maximum for your ability scores is now 24, instead of 22.
  • You choose the 1st level of a class you meet the multiclass requirements for.
  • You gain the ability to have 2 subclasses (this is unchanged).
  • You choose 1 additional class. You gain 3 levels in that class. You do not have to meet the multiclass requirements for this class.
  • Your maximum level increases to 23, instead of 21.
  • Whenever you would gain experience points, you instead gain that much multiplied by 1.75, rounded down.
