More information...

A being with a spark connecting it to the Aether, capable of innately traveling between planes.

Occasionally, some creatures are born with an innate touch of the Blind Eternities in them. This spark can last for a creature's entire life without awakening, and is almost unnoticeable before its awakening. Only powerful magic can sense it at this point. However, during a moment of great emotion or a near-death experience, a planeswalker's spark can ignite, propelling them across the planes to an entirely world. The new planeswalker soon finds they can do this at will, with countless new choices ahead of them. What a planeswalker does with their ability is up to them, and with how rare they are, no two planeswalkers are the same.

Planeswalker is effectively an acquired template, as it does little before the planeswalker's spark ignites. However, a creature is born with the planeswalker's spark from birth, even if they do not know it.

Creating a Planeswalker[edit]

"Planeswalker" is a template that can be added to any living, corporeal creature with an Intelligence score of 4 or more (referred to hereafter as the "base creature").

Size and Type[edit]

The planeswalker's size and type do not change after their spark ignites.

Hit Dice[edit]

Same as the base creature.

Speed[edit]

Same as the base creature.

Armor Class[edit]

Planeswalkers gain a +1 natural armor bonus to AC, as exposure to the Blind Eternities through planeswalking hardens their flesh.

Attack[edit]

Same as the base creature.

Special Qualities[edit]

Planeswalk (Su): Three times per day, as a full-round action, a planeswalker can attempt to planeswalk to another plane. When a planeswalker does this, they instantly transport themselves to another plane that they know of. If they have previously been on that plane, they reappear in the same location as they were before leaving. Otherwise, they appear at a random safe point, likely within 10 miles of another being on the plane with a planeswalker spark if one exists.

Abilities[edit]

+2 Wisdom.

Environment[edit]

Planeswalkers can be found just about anywhere in the multiverse.

Organization[edit]

Due to their unique nature, planeswalkers are typically solitary creatures.

Challenge Rating[edit]

Treasure[edit]

As base creature. However, a planeswalker's equipment, money, and treasure is usually a mixture of whatever they have gathered from their planar travels.

Alignment[edit]

After a planeswalker's spark ignites, their alignment tends to move towards good or evil, although some planeswalkers remain neutral.

Advancement[edit]

By character class.

Challenge Rating[edit]

HD 3 or less, as base creature; HD 4 to 6, as base creature +1; HD 7 to 9, as base creature +2, HD 10 or more, as base creature +3.

Level Adjustment[edit]

+3.
