Path of the Infernal Berserker[edit]

Design Note: This subclass is designed with the Zariel Tiefling in mind.

Barbarian Subclass

Barbarians who walk the Path of the Infernal Berserker are warriors whose rage is fueled by demonic power. These barbarians embrace their infernal heritage, channeling the power of the sins that dwell within them. With each swing of their weapon, their anger ignites, turning them into devastating forces on the battlefield.

Infernal Transformation

When you choose this path at 3rd level, you can unleash the demonic power within you when you enter a rage.

Demonic Rage: When you enter a rage, you can choose to transform into your demonic form. While in this form, you gain the following benefits:

  • Hellish Strength: Your Strength and Constitution scores each increase by 2, up to a maximum of 22.
  • Infernal Wrath: You deal an additional 1d6 fire damage with melee weapon attacks.
  • Demonic Resistance: You gain resistance to necrotic damage.

Your transformation lasts for the duration of your rage. Once the rage ends, you revert to your normal form.

Sins of Gluttony

At 6th level, your connection to the infernal sins empowers your combat abilities.

  • Gluttonous Power: When you reduce a creature to 0 hit points, you can use a bonus action to absorb their vitality, gaining temporary hit points equal to your Barbarian level + your Constitution modifier.
  • Wrathful Retaliation: When you take damage while raging, you can use your reaction to deal fire damage equal to your Barbarian level to the attacker.
Sin Empowerment

At 10th level, you can tap into the powers of various sins to enhance your abilities.

Fiendish Dominance

At 14th level, you can fully transform into a demonic avatar, gaining immense power for a short time.

Fiendish Transformation: As an action, you can transform into a fiendish avatar for 1 minute. While transformed, you gain the following benefits:

  • Hellfire Aura: At the start of each of your turns, each creature within 10 feet of you takes fire damage equal to your Constitution modifier.
  • Demonic Resilience: You gain temporary hit points equal to twice your Barbarian level when you transform.
  • Infernal Might: You can make an additional melee attack when you take the Attack action on your turn.

Once you use this feature, you must finish a long rest before you can use it again.

Drawback: Infernal Exhaustion

After your Infernal Transformation (from Fiendish Dominance) ends, you gain one level of exhaustion.
