Wondrous item, uncommon This book is associated with a particular intellectual field (one of Arcana, History, Medicine, Nature, Religion, or a similar skill), and contains all manner of useless and irrelevant information associated with that skill in excessive depth. If you spend 4 hours reading the book, you permanently gain a +10 bonus to ability checks for a particular use of the skill (chosen by the DM) that is so incredibly obscure and esoteric that you will get the chance to use the bonus perhaps once or twice ever in any given campaign. The manual then loses its magic, but regains it in a year. |
