More information...

Among the many houses of the Seelie and Unseelie courts, there is the rare warrior who is choosen to transcend his fragile sylvan frame in favor of a stronger, tougher undying body. Known as the Shaythan, these warriors are used as elite hunters and soldiers against the opposing court.

Shaythan appear similar to their living form, although most are unnaturally pale, and they possess leaner, more feral-looking bodies.

Becoming a Kelir Shaythan[edit]

Although the act of creating undead is considered terrible and unnatural by even the Unseelie court, occasionally either them or their counterpart might require a slightly enhanced warrior with immunity to most mind-influencing tricks fey might use.

When a queen requires it, she chooses three fey to participate in the ceremony to turn a warrior into a Shaythan. These three fey are bound to the Shaythan permanently, and from then onward, the Shaythan requires the others to remain in this state. Although little is known of the ritual, it is rumored that the prospective Shaythan is required to eat the flesh of another fey, and to bath in it's blood. Whether this is true or not, the shaythan loses a small amount of personal power upon completion of the ritual in the form of 1,000 xp.

Creating a Kelir Shaythan[edit]

“Kelir Shaythan” is an acquired template that can be added to any fey with a base attack bonus of +6 or higher (referred to hereafter as the base creature).

Size and Type[edit]

The creature’s type changes to undead (augmented fey). Do not recalculate base attack bonus, saves, or skill points. Size is unchanged.

Hit Dice[edit]

Increase all racial Hit Dice to d12s.

Special Qualities[edit]

A kelir shaythan retains all the special qualities of the base creature and also gains the following quality.

Weaknesses: While a Shaythan can of course be killed like a normal undead, it has one peculiar weakness that others can exploit. If, somehow, all of the three fey who participated in the ritual to turn the Shaythan into an undead dies, the Shaythan is destroyed.

If the Shaythan's corpse is brought to the area were the ceremony was performed, he may be raised again as a Shaythan, provided there are three new fey to participate in the ritual and thus bind themselves to the Shaythan.

As an undead creature, a kelir shaythan has no Constitution score
