Keenfire as depicted in the video game based of the book description, Markus Heitz, The Dwarves. |
Weapon (greataxe), artifact (requires attunement by a good aligned dwarf)
The legendary Dwarven axe Keenfire, the axe lost for ages, with the power to kill and destroy any evil, no matter how strong they may be. The power of Keenfire protects the wielder and those close to them.
This magical greataxe grants a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with it. Attacks made against evil aligned creatures also cause additional 2d10 radiant damage on a hit. This bonus increases to 3d10 radiant damage against creatures considered enemies to the dwarven race (as determined by the DM).
Destroyer of Evil. Any creature that is an enemy to the dwarven race can be completely destroyed upon being reduced to 0 hit points by this weapon. This includes fiends that would generally just return to their planes, undead that return after some time (such as liches or ghosts) and other creatures that aren't typically destroyed upon reaching 0 hit points.
Protection from Evil. You are constantly under the effects of the protection from evil and good spell while holding this axe. You also have resistance to necrotic damage. Finally, you can't be charmed or frightened, and you are immune to possession and to any effects that would reduce your hit point maximum or ability scores.
Arcane Resilience. You have resistance to the damage of spells and have advantage on saving throws against spells. In addition, as an Action while you are under the effects of a spell, you can end that spell on you.
Evil Smiter. When you roll a 20 on an attack roll with this axe against a fiend or undead, you can force it to make a DC 18 Constitution saving throw. On a successful save, the creature takes 100 Radiant damage. On a failure, it is reduced to 0 hit points. You can't use this property again for the next 7 days.
Destroying the Keenfire. The axe can't be destroyed by anyone other than the dwarvish god Vraccas, but is powerless in the hands of an enemy of the dwarves who chooses to fight for evil.
