Haraka[edit]

"Life is too short to worry about anything. You had better enjoy it because the next day promises nothing." - Eric Davis

Physical Description[edit]

A Haraka wielding a traditional spear.

The Haraka are snakelike people, their bodies are lithe and muscly. For most Haraka, their metabolism is very fast, they can eat just about anything and digest it very quickly, so you'll never find a Haraka that is out of shape. Most have fins on the back of their heads. These have muscles and if worked enough can be used as a ramming tool, thick scales cover their front and the actual wing like fins can be used to aid in swimming. Because their Metabolism is so fast they move very quickly.

History[edit]

The Haraka evolved from common lizards and snakes to create the humanoid creatures that they are today. When they first came into existence they were very jittery, many would die from simple mistakes, in fact the Haraka almost became extinct, until another race came along and put them into slavery. Now this of course was bad for the Haraka in that they no longer had the freedom they once had, however it also stopped their extinction and allowed them to adopt some common sense. They learned from their mistakes and set out to free themselves. They had a very tough time getting past their now servile nature, but they were able to free themselves as a race, and ensure that although their lives would be short, they would have freedom. They have lived in small tribes and villages since then.

Society[edit]

The Haraka society is a tribal one, the Haraka create small tribes of 20-40. These Haraka stick together until they reproduce and die. Then their next Generation takes over the tribe. In societies like this most Haraka will take the postion that their parents had. It isn't necessarily uncommon though for a Haraka or two to leave the tribe in search of adventure, or something to make their lives more meaningful.

Haraka Names[edit]

Haraka have regular names, nothing entirely special about it, a first and last name. Some may adopt their tribe name as their surname.
