Half-Distortion[edit]

Physical Description[edit]

Half-Distortions tend to have a semblance of their origin race, however, have a blatant meta-physical distinction as well, usually physically representing a form of trauma or sin they had given in to.

Society[edit]

Half-Distortions are not common and with that many of them are feared, however they are respected for their power by those smart enough to not get on their bad side.

Half-Distortion Names[edit]

Half-Distortion names are as simple as the name they held before becoming a Half-Distortion and can range anywhere from John to Balthazar.

Half-Distortion Traits[edit]

Ability Score Increase. Age. No known Half-Distortions have died from old age as they tend to get involved in conflicts that get them killed, however it can be assumed that they have an extended lifespan. Your age can be anywhere as much as double your origin race's lifespan.
Alignment. Half distortions tend to fall on the lawful or chaotic chaotic side due to whatever their ideal is that brought them to distort, however they are human enough to still be capable of reason.
Size. Half-Distortions have the same size as their origin race.
Speed. you have a walking speed of 30ft
Distorted. Half-Distortions are both distortion and whatever their origin race was, meaning you gain a benefit from both. Choose one feature from the race you originated from, this choice cannot be changed later. If your previous race was Human, you will take one of the features from variant human instead.
Temptation. In order to distort, you must have given into some kind of temptation that Carmen offered. With that came a strength and a weakness. You gain the Sin Affinity feat picking one of the sins that fits most for what you gave into in order to distort, however you also gain weakness to a Sin that correlates to what you were trying to escape from and will take double damage when attacked by somebody concentrating on that sin.

How to pick a sin strength and weakness

  • Ex: “John Doe distorted because the girl of his dreams was taken by Dan. Every time Dan saw John he would smile at him and it angered John to the point of distortion before killing Dan”
  • John would likely have an affinity for the sin of wrath due to him taking his anger out on Dan.
  • He would likely have a weakness to the sin of Pride because he perceived Dan’s smile as one of contempt.
Anomaly. Being partially distorted, you have a knack for knowing if a distortion or abnormality is or has been around. You have advantage on Perception and investigation checks for identifying distortions and abnormalities.
