Fogborn[edit]

As he approached the village,.. the mist danced around his body as if it was a part of him...

Physical Description[edit]

With pure black or dark gray eyes, fogborn resemble fair-skinned humanoids. The air around them is rarely dry, and at times it seems as though their skin is emitting a dark fog or mist. They appear misty, and occasionally it appears that they are exhaling steam. They frequently have wet hair because of this precipitation. Because it affects their hydration levels, they dislike dry weather. Inhabiting the marsh has also given them aptitude to cold weather and disease, not to mension the merciless wind of the Shōrōkaze.

History[edit]

These gloomy and disturbed people are thought to be endowed with the Shōrōkaze's power. They are said to have developed from the sick wind that caused famine and death to spread throughout the rest of the Continent. The fogborn were cursed with their physical traits as well as their blood of ravenous fog and wind. Since times past, the fogblood have been feared for their superior fighting skills and ties to the Shōrōkaze. If they ever managed to approach the clan, many have been driven away out of fear and envy. They are said to inhabit the Fogbound Lagoon which is said to be strewn with ravaging demons,Yokai, spirits of eastern legend.

Society[edit]

Fogborn typically live in villages of thirty to forty people. The elders usually take charge of the group's daily activities, assigning roles and assigning chores. The youth are typically taught sword and bow skills in addition to hand-to-hand combat. Since many of them end up as Executioners or Ronin, Asaemon, it is thought that they carry the Shōrōkaze's power from a curse that permeates the clan's bodies. They reside in fishing communities, and the water they are surrounded by is harsh and unforgiving, frequently causing the youth of the clan to perish at sea. The villages themselves are located in marshes scattered across a number of imposing mountain ranges. Known as the Fogbound East, this region is steeped in myth and legend with those in the north.
