Devil Fruit User: Logia Type[edit]

The Power of The Elements[edit]

Devil Fruits are incredibly rare to begin with, and all powerful in their own right. Logia Types are the rarest and most powerful, even among these fruits. Meeting someone who has obtained one of these fruits is incredibly rare, and those who master the powers that are given are always major players in history. Whether for good or evil, you can be sure that wielders of a logia type's power will make their presence felt on the battlefield, or the world.

Elemental Body[edit]

Due to eating the devil fruit, your body has become an element. As such, you now have immunity to all nonmagical bludgeoning, slashing, and piercing attacks, as well as the damage type your element is, if applicable. You also no longer take damage from falling. As well as this, you can manipulate your body more freely, being able to turn yourself into your element at will, and having basic control over it, such as using ice or fire to cool or heat a drink.

Touching Damage

If your fruit is of an element that would cause damage to a normal person touching it, such as extreme cold, fire, or lightning, you have the option to deal 1d8 of fire, cold, or lightning damage when someone touches you.

Devil Fruit Weaknesses[edit]

Eating a devil fruit comes with its share of weaknesses as well. You are unable to swim entirely and will sink like an anchor in water. You are also unable to use any of your devil fruit abilities in the water. Also, if you are in contact with a special material called seastone, you will be unable to use your devil fruit abilities.

Elemental Attacks[edit]

You gain a bit of control over your elemental abilities. You are now able to create melee weapons that you are proficient with, as well as launch ranged attacks, dealing either the normal melee weapon's damage in your element or 1d6 of your element's damage with the range of a light crossbow. Note: If your element is something like smoke or gas, you use bludgeoning or slashing damage depending on the weapon you create or piercing damage if you use the ranged attack granted by this feature.

Fighting Style[edit]

At 3rd level, you chose a Fighting Style. Choose between Melee or Ranged, both detailed at the end of the class description. Your choice grants you features at 3rd level and again at 7th, 10th, 15th, and 18th level.

Abilities[edit]

Abilities are your bread and butter as a Logia type devil fruit user. This is your change to be creative; talk to your Dungeon Master about potential abilities when you get the option to add a new one. These can be anything that would be reasonable considering what your element is, such as shooting fire from your hands or flying using wind; these abilities would start out smaller and less powerful. Abilities work off of Elemental Points, with each new ability costing 1 more Elemental Point to use Starting at 1. Abilities can be empowered like spells, costing more Elemental Points for more powerful effects. The maximum number of Elemental Points that can be spent on an ability is equal to the number of abilities you have. For example, a 9th level Devil Fruit user would have 3 Abilities, and could thus spend up to 3 Elemental Points on an Ability.

Elemental Points[edit]

Elemental Points are what let you use your abilities. You start with 3 at Level 3, and gain one each time you level up. For Abilities that require an attack roll, it is 8+Proficiency+Constitution modifier.

DC=8+ Proficiency Bonus+ Constitution Modifier

Ability Score Improvement[edit]

When you reach 4th level, and again at 8th, 12th, 16th and 19th level, you can increase one ability score of your choice by 2, or you can increase two ability scores of your choice by 1. As normal, you can't increase an ability score above 20 using this feature.

Evasion[edit]

Your elemental body lets you dodge out of the way of incoming harm faster than most would be able to. Starting at 7th level, when you are subjected to an effect that allows you to make a Dexterity saving throw to take only half damage, you instead take no damage if you succeed on the saving throw, and only half damage if you fail.

Elemental Recovery[edit]

Starting at level 13, you can recover Elemental Points equal to half your Devil Fruit User level rounded down as an action. You can do this Con mod times/long rest.

Elemental Regeneration[edit]

Starting at level 16, your elemental body allows you to recover from wounds far faster than a normal person. As an action, you can spend a number of Hit Dice equal to your constitution modifier once per long rest.

Ultimate Ability[edit]

This is by far your most powerful ability. Used only as a last resort, it is something you have gained after mastering your devil fruit. Like all other Abilities, confer with your DM about the nature of the ability. This ability costs 10 Elemental Points.

Note: Your Ultimate Ability does not count as an Ability for the purposes of empowering another Ability.

Signature Ability[edit]

You have mastered an ability so much that it has become synonymous with your own name. Starting at level 20, you may pick one of your abilities. The base cost of that ability is now half as many elemental points as it would be, rounded up. If the ability costs 1 or 2 elemental points, it now costs 0. Empowering the Ability, if applicable, works the same; and the ability now uses the new base cost when determining how many points can be spent on it.

Note: Your Ultimate Ability CAN NOT be chosen as your signature ability.

Melee Fighter[edit]

This is for anyone who wants to get up close and personal with your enemies in melee combat, and want to design your devil fruit abilities around that.

Weapon and Armor Training

Staring at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with all martial melee weapons as well as Breastplates, and can create the new weapons using your Elemental Attacks feature. You also gain a fighting style from the Fighter list. This style can not be Archery.

Extra Attack

Starting at 6th level, you can attack twice, instead of once, whenever you take the Attack action on your turn.

Weapon Charging

Starting at level 10, you add an extra 1d8 of your element's damage to every melee attack.

Superior Critical

Starting at 15th level, your weapon attacks score a critical hit on a roll of 18–20.

Retaliation

Starting at 18th level, when you take damage from a creature that is within 5 feet of you, you can use your reaction to make a melee weapon attack against that creature.

Ranged Fighter[edit]

For players who may want to take a stealthier approach to combat, or simply want to have better ranged capabilities.

Improved Ranged Attacks

Starting at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with Martial Ranged Weapons, and the ranged attack granted by the Elemental Attacks feature now deals 1d10+Dex modifier damage. You also gain the benefits of the Archery Fighting Style. Your range with Elemental Attacks also doubles.

Extra Attack

Starting at 6th level, you can attack twice, instead of once, whenever you take the Attack action on your turn.

Volley

Starting at 10th level, you can use your action to make a ranged attack against any number of creatures within 10 feet of a point you can see within your weapon’s range. You must have ammunition for each target, as normal, and you make a separate attack roll for each target.

Elusive

Beginning at 15th level, you are so evasive that attackers rarely gain the upper hand against you. No attack roll has advantage against you while you aren’t incapacitated.

Enhanced Reflexes

When you reach 18th level, you have become adept at laying ambushes and quickly escaping danger. You can take two turns during the first round of any combat. You take your first turn at your normal initiative and your second turn at your initiative minus 10. You can’t use this feature when you are surprised.
