A Delibird Source

Delibird are red, avian Pokémon with a white, hollow tail. Their face and chest are covered in white feathers with two, three-pointed crests above their eyes. Black markings surround their circular eyes, and their has a light yellow beak and feet. There is a single white spot on their stomach. Their feet have two digits each.

Some have claimed to see Delibird that are covered in light pink feathers instead of red ones.

History[edit]

Delibird were first seen in the frozen caves of the Johto region's northern mountains, but can be found in the mountains of various other regions. Interestingly, they can be found on the islands of Alola, able to withstand the tropical climate to some extent. They tend to make their nests on cliffs, and carry food in their sack-like tails to bring to their awaiting young. They are always willing to share their food with those who need it, as those who become lost in the mountains have reported being saved by these creatures. In fact, a legendary explorer wa supposedly able to reach the summit of Mt Everest thanks to the help of a Delibird. They are also known to throw food at opponents as a means of distracting them if attacked. Due to their appearance and behaviors, it is believed these creatures inspired the myth of Santa Claus.

Society[edit]

Delibird often find work as couriers when in human society. In some instances, they've been known to act as tax collectors.

Delibird Names[edit]

Delibird who live in the mountains tend to take Auran names, while those who choose to live in civilization tend to take Common names.
