History[edit]

Cursed Vessels are born from incarnation, which happens the remains of a sorcerer have become a cursed object and are ingested by someone. It is best described as the fusion between a cursed object and human flesh. In most cases, the host's body is completely taken over and their consciousness is completely suppressed. The incarnated individual receives memories, knowledge and common sense from their vessel's brains.

Attitudes and Beliefs[edit]

Cursed Vessels almost aways have some form of objective, making sure that when they revive they will chase this goal even if it means killing everything in their sight.

There are the reincarnated, which were simply sorcerers who were consumed by creatures who were adapted for their incarnation. There are the death paintings, which take over the body of said vessel despite it's host having a will. And then there is the incomplete and complete vessrls. In case the cursed object'e host still had a will, it will start as an imcomplete vessel and then become a complete vessel after erasing the will of the old body owner.

Reincarnated[edit]

Ability Score Increase. You have been brought back in your peak, you can choose one ability score to increase by 2 and other ability score to increase by 1.
Life Experience. This isn't your first shot at life, and last time you learned a few things. You will gain proficiency in two skills or one skill and one tool of your choice.
Cling on to Life. You have died once, and will make sure that it won't happen again. Whenever you are reduced to 0 hit points, you may choose to be reduced to 1 hit point instead. You may only do this once per long rest.

Death Painting[edit]

Ability Score Increase. Your cursed object has overcome the body of your initial host, so instead of gaining the host's ability scores you'll receive a +3 in your Charisma score. This cannot go above 20.
Durable Body. This feature replaces the New Body Functions feature. Once you incarnated into a vessel, due to your unnatural properties the body became more durable. Your maximum hit points increase by 2, and increase by 2 again every time you gain a level.
Poisonous Blood. Your birth came from someone from the Kamo clan, and due to experiments made in said person your blood became poisonous. You will gain the Artificially Created background feat, however you'll only benefit from the poisonous blood feature. Additionally, your poisonous blood DC and it's damage is increased by your Constitution modifier.

Design Note: The incomplete and complete vessel subraces can only be used by someone who became a Cursed Object using the Cursed Object Transformation feat.

Incomplete Vessel[edit]

Owner's Will. When you possessed your body, the host wasn't willing to give the body to you so it will try to stop you by limiting your power. Whenever you use any of the features from your old body to cause harm to allies or things that the old body owner had affection for, you'll have a massive decrease in power. Your damage rolls are halved(rounded down) and the saving throws to your features are made with advantage.
Destruction of Will. You have found a way to remove the host's will to live completely, to submerge the body into darkness. The first thing you must do is submerge yourself in a pool full of blood during an entire short rest. The second thing is to kill a loved one of said creature using only it's features. After killing it, their soul will be sent to deep within the darkness and you will become a complete vessel.

Complete Vessel[edit]

Soul Damage. You have learned how to utilize the soul trapped inside of you to negate damage. You have a pool of hit points equal to the maximum hit points of the creature you're possessing used to have. Whenever you receive damage, you can spend cursed energy up to your Charisma modifier + your proficiency bonus to remove 10 hit points from the pool per cursed energy spent. Once those points run out, you regain this pool points after a long rest.
Perfect Reincarnation. You have done what's considered impossible by all, you have learned how to reincarnate in your body. As an action or reaction to being reduced to 0 hit points, you can transform into your original body, losing all the benefits and traits you have gained with the cursed vessel race. But, your hit points will be restored to it's maximum.
