Chitinoids four-armed, moth-like humanoids. They come in a diverse range sizes, though they have common characteristics shared between individuals. Common features include a hard exoskeleton, which can vary wildly in colour, long floppy antannae, and of course, four arms. They're the least humanoid a humanoid can get.

History[edit]

Chitinoids are a race of moth-like humanoids that are from and dwell in deserts. Their history is rich with technological advancement and war as a result. It started with tribes, then villages, then cities, then territories, then nations at war, with a chief, royal family or government at the head of each side. There are rumors they created the first guns. Their origins trace back to the same time of human origin, where they evolved into what they are now.

Society[edit]

Chitinoid society shows great resemblance to wild west society. Shootouts, bounty hunting, bar fights, these would all happen in Chitinoid society, but with rickety but futuristic technology like a laser revolver or a rusty, floating metal orb. Old towns or slave towns would look much like a wild western town, but big cities would exist in the same style. Chitinoid society isn't too unfriendly though. Thanks to their technological advancements they have amazing healthcare and quality of life in big cities, and things like shootouts and bar fights aren't too commonplace.

Chitinoid Names[edit]

Chitinoid names come from the ancient Chitanoid language, Chi, that only lives on in Chitanoid names. The rest of the language has been replaced mostly by Common and some other languages, which also presents some names

Male: Reno, Ren, Rocket, Pylo, Trike

Female: Rena, Ren, Absa, Pyla, Loran

Chitinoid Traits[edit]

Ability Score Increase. Your Constitution score increases by 2 and your Dexterity score increases by 1.
Age. Chitinoids mature around the age of 14 and usually live for 100 years
Alignment. Chitinoids usually tend toward lawful and neutral alignments out of fear or respect for the law and/or bounty hunters. Some don't care though.
Size. Chitinoids are much like Humans in size, but vary much more. Chitinoids can be just over 4 feet tall to well over 6 feet tall. Your size is Medium.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Moth's Eyes. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
Four-armed. As a Chitinoid, you have four arms to work with. You count as one size larger when determining your carrying capacity and the weight you can push, drag, or lift. You may hold extra weapons, but cannot make extra attacks unless you have features such as Extra Attack. You may hold extra shields, but as stated in the rules, You can benefit from only one shield at a time.
Small Wings. You have a double jump in the air. You may choose to Long Jump or High Jump while airborne, and cannot jump again until you land.
Crafty. You gain proficiency in Tinker's tools.
Tough Exoskeleton. Having four arms makes armour hard to come by. Thankfully, you have a tough exoskeleton to protect you. When you aren’t wearing armour, your AC equals 10 + your Dexterity modifier + your Constitution modifier. This is not affected by a shield. 
Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common and one other language of your choice.
