Canis Familiaris[edit]
Dogs are man's best friend, and a lot of archmages, druids and clerics ten to choose their familiars with that form. If the mage is powerfull enough, and treats them well and with the right amount of respect, something might awaken in them, they can become intelligent

Canis Familiaris are almost indistinguishable from normal dogs or wolves, however they tend to be bigger and with softest fur. They have smart eyes
History[edit]
Since ancient times, spellcasters used familiars to help them in their task, giving them menial labour and watching from their eyes while not leaving their homes. Some casters were different tho, they treated their familiars like true living beings, respected them and gave them love. By recieving positive emotions, as well as powerfull magic, a familiar can in this way develop a soul, and conscience. In this way they become more powerfull, serving their mage in new ways, but also being their bestest friend
Attitudes and Beliefs[edit]
Canis Familiaris tend to be loyal to their owner, loving them over pretty much everything else. To them their owner is their parent, their best friend and their teacher, they would be nothing without their owner, and as such are very thnakful to them. Even when their owner isn't around, they tend to attach to one creature and treating it as their best friend
Canis Familiaris Names[edit]
They tend to have names chosen by their master, as such, their name tends to vary in base of the master preference
Male: Fuffy, Fido, Andrus, Sif, Doggy
Female: Sheila, Genoveffa, Snowball
Canis Familiaris Traits[edit]

Ability Score Increase. One of your Ability score increases by 2 As normal, you can't increase an ability score above 20 using this feature
Age. They tend to mature at 1 year old, and they do not seem to die of old age
Alignment. They tend to be of the alignment of their owner
Size. dogs vary widely in height and build, from barely 2 feet to well over 6 feet tall. Your size is Medium or Small
Speed. Your base walking speed is 40 feet
Animal senses. You have the senses of a wild animal, You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray. In addition you have proficiency in perception, and advantage in perceptio checks that rely on smell
Bite. Your fanged maw is a natural weapon with the finesse property, which you can use to make bite attacks. If you hit with it, you deal piercing damage equal to 1d6 + your choice of Strength or Dexterity modifier.
Canine build. You are quadrupedal, and do not have hands with which to hold weapons or use shields. You can hold one-handed weapons and other objects in your mouth but are unable to bite while doing so. You can perform somatic spell components using your tail and paws.
Familiar Bond. Over the course of a long rest you can designate a creature to be your "bestest friend". While with your within 5 feet of your bestest friend, you have advantage on attacks and spell attacks, you can give this benefits to your bestest friend as well
Telephatic. your animal mouth is not suited for human speech, so you can telepatically speak with creature of your choice within 30 feet from you, you can only speak lenguages that you know
emotional support. you have advantage on perception checks to understand when someone is sad, and advantage on charismaq checks to make them feel better
Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common and one other language of your choice
Subrace. You can choose between the Wizard, Cleric, Bardic, Druidic and Warlock familiars
Wizard Familiars[edit]
Ability Score Increase. Your Charisma score increases by 2
Magical Sharing. Your Bestest friend has of your cantrips, when you reach 3rd and 5th level, your bestest friend can use once per short rest one spell of 1st and second level respectivelly. Using your spellcasting ability for the casting. You must be a Wizard and have an eligible spell in your spellbook to gain this feature

class restriction. You can only start with the wizard class, you can choose a cantrip of your choice from any spell list, as well as one 1st and one 2nd level wizard spells. You can cast the spells once daily withut expending a spellslot
Cleric Familiars[edit]
Ability Score Increase. Your Wisdom score increases by 2
Blessing Magic. You can cast bless once at 1st level without expending a spellslot. You regain this feature after a long rest
Religious assistant. You have advantage in religion checks
Bardic Familiars[edit]
Ability Score Increase. Your Charisma score increases by 2
Barking Rebuke. You can use Vicious Mockery by barking, you know the cantrip "vicious mockery" Charisma is your spellcasting ability for it
dog performance. you have proficiency in Performance
Druidic Familiars[edit]
Ability Score Increase. Your Wisdom score increases by 2
Druidic Magic. you can cast speak with animals once without using a spellslot, wisdom is your spellcasting ability for it, you can do it again after a long rest
Nature knowledge. you have proficiency in Nature skill
Warlock Familiars[edit]
Ability Score Increase. Your Charisma score increases by 2
Eldritch Caster. You know the cantrip Eldritch Blast, Charisma is your spellcasting ability to use it
Occult Knowledge. You have advantage on religion check made to understand occult forces like fiends, undead and aberrations
