Blue Bloods[edit]

We're not your typical b-rated movie bloodsuckers. We're more than that. Meant for more.

Finding one's blood blue

Blue bloods are born human, with their true nature latent. They are naturally pale in skin, even though their hair colors may be dark or light. They mature around 16 or so. A mature blue blood has iconic blue veins running through their body because of their awakened blood. It shows most where the skin is thinnest, so on the wrist, at the neck, and such. These veins may become more pronounced when the blue blood is stressed. When a blue blood bleeds, their blood is blue, hence their appropriate name. They are known to often have blue eyes though they can also have the generic human eye color.

Silver bloods, a subrace of blue bloods, have silver blood instead, obviously. They appear much more muscular than normal blue bloods. Their hair can be discolored and their skin does not show their blood easily due to its metallic tint. Silver bloods often have red eyes when they are hungry or angered.

Additionally, blue bloods have two sharp fangs like that of vampires, but they are set nearer the back of the mouth, by the molars. Silver blood fangs are sharper. There is a tendency for blue bloods in general to be naturally beautiful or handsome. Some look like victorian dolls or chiseled faces, unmoved from another beautiful era.

History of Redemption[edit]

At the beginning of time, the angels were united under the banner of heaven. However, turmoil began over the betrayal by Lucifer, who defied their Lord. The defiant angel convinced others to join his ranks. Together, they waged an epic biblical war against the forces of heaven, trying to take it all for themselves. They were defeated overwhelmingly before heaven's gates. A portion of the angels repented and so were granted a chance to redeem themselves by helping humanity regain their redemption, thus symbiotically coexisting. These were the blue bloods; fallen angels. Blue bloods no longer had an immortal body like angels, but they retained their soul. When they died, given they completed their rituals fastidiously, they would be reborn with all their past memories and experiences. Thus, they could continue helping mankind and growing from mistakes.

However, as the hundreds of years dragged on, some blue bloods became disillusioned with reconciling with heaven and gaining redemption. It is believed Lucifer retained influence over some of them and influenced them as a devil. They resented heaven for having cursed them like this. So, in their depravity, they attacked their fellow blue bloods and killed them, devouring them. This violent change resulted in their blood changing to silver. Thus, the silver bloods diverged from the blue bloods.

This split resulted in a massive war and massacre. At the head of the silver bloods was the ever elusive and crafty Lucifer. Leading the regular blue bloods were two angels, Gabriel and Michael. These two had pitied their fallen kin and so joined them down on earth to help. Their forces triumphed over Lucifer and the devil was sealed away. The silver bloods fled and hid for the time, awaiting Lucifer's return.

In current time, blue bloods remain trying to gain their redemption. However, even those who did not become blue bloods were growing weary of the ever-fallible nature of humans and the seemingly sisyphean task of redemption. Less and less blue bloods completed all their necessary rituals and rebirth cycles, opting to lay their souls to sleep forever instead. Many blue bloods were also born of marriage with other races, whose offspring would have the same blue blood.

Society[edit]

Blue bloods are raised in human societies, since the two races are closely intertwined historically and biblically. Blue bloods are often in the higher echelons of society. They would be the politicians, philanthropists and millionaires to humans. This is because their long lines of rebirth have allowed them to build a good standing for themselves in the world. Often, they live in clustered, gated communities of mansions and posh surroundings. Their political power is manifested in the High Society, which helps monitor community activity and ensure safety for them by managing public relations. All their historical knowledge is accumulated and stored in huge, sprawling underground vaults called libraries, which are usually guarded by choice humans with long family histories with blue bloods.

When a blue blood comes to be of age for their blood to awaken, the High Society gathers all of the generation and ushers them to accept their destinies. Due to more lax blue bloods not undertaking full rebirth and proliferation, more blue bloods are born without memories and purpose, making these introduction seminars all the more important.

Blue bloods are usually strong pillars in their societies, often donating large amounts from prestigious funds to finance progressive causes to better the world. They are encouraged upon awakening to commit to community service and other philanthropic acts. They therefore have very amicable relations with humans. They are also very hard to distinguish in public from humans save for maybe their funerals, which usually feature white clothes rather than black.

Silver bloods are sparse and far flung. They do not have a micro society like the blue bloods but are suspected to have small groups which congregate and operate in a net across societies, plotting for the return of their leader. Individuals often scatter into human societies, looking for blue bloods to hunt and kill.
