Bloodfiend (Project Moon Supplement)
Bloodfiend[edit]
Physical Description[edit]
Bloodfiends traditionally look like humans, however they have much more pale skin and red eyes to follow.
Society[edit]
Bloodfiend family dynamics can vary greatly, from trying to war with eachother, trying to destroy all of humanity, or even trying to live in harmony with humans, Bloodfiend families have many different possible inner workings. Work with your dm to determine what that family would look like to you. Despite what your family’s plans are for their legacy, a kindred family dynamic is similar to that of humans but with a hierarchy with the highest kindred being the head of the family, and everyone else falling suit with their rankings.
Bloodfiend Names[edit]
Bloodfiends traditionally take on classic names such as Don Quiote, Sancho, or Dulcinea
Bloodfiend Traits[edit]
Ability Score Increase. Age. Bloodfiends do not die from old age, and so unless they are killed by an outside force, they are effectively immortal.
Alignment. Bloodfiends tend to lean towards Lawful Evil due to their innate bloodlust. However, it is possible to have other alignments depending on who the head of the family is and what their alignment is.
Size. Bloodfiends have similar physical builds to humans. Your size is medium
Speed. you have a walking speed of 30ft
Powerful Build. Bloodfiends are much stronger than humans. You gain the Powerful Build Feat.
Fangs. Your bite counts as a natural weapon dealing 1d4+strength or dexterity modifier piercing damage.
Bloodthirst. Your bloodthirst is potent and more than a physical need, but a requirement for cognitive stability. You must consume at least 12 ounces of blood every day to remain sane, however your thirst is constant. If you do not feed on blood for three days, you must roll a wisdom saving throw for short term madness. On success you are able to fight it off for the day, but must roll it again at the end of your next long rest. Going without blood for a week means that you must make a wisdom save. On failure you will roll for long term madness instead. You may only have one short term madness effect and one long term madness effect at once. Human blood is the only type that will sate you, blood of animals can give some sense of relief but it is nowhere comparable to human blood. Sating yourself with animal blood takes 48 ounces of animal blood to equal 12 ounces of human blood, however you can only be sated this way for up to a week otherwise you will roll for insanity as if you have been starving. This thirst is made more manageable by having or being a large family of kindred to share the thirst for blood together. If your family size is less than 10 members, you will roll madness saves with disadvantage.
Kindred Ranking. As you are a bloodfiend, it means that you are most likely a part of a larger family, otherwise you’d be mindlessly wandering the streets looking for any semblance of blood to consume. Your kindred ranking is dependent on what ranking the kindred who turned you was. For example, if you were turned by a first kindred, you would be a second kindred. If you were turned by a 7th kindred, you would be an 8th kindred. This is important to note because higher kindred giving commands is like law to lower kindred, and refusing to follow these commands would force you to make a wisdom saving throw or become frightened. Additionally, it is a taboo to harm a kindred higher than you within your bloodline. If you were to try and intentionally harm a higher kindred unless it is for training purposes, you are immediately frightened and stunned. You cannot resist these effects even if you are otherwise immune except under one condition, that would be if you are under the effects of long-term madness due to blood starvation for a long duration, and the higher kindred is the one causing it. For example the first kindred of your bloodline forbids all lower kindred from consuming human blood or else. In this instance, lower kindred would then be able to revolt. Finally, no matter the ranking of the kindred, all kindred may turn up to two humans into kindred if their own acting as children in a sense. To turn a human into a kindred it would require you to be a 17th level character.
Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common and one other language of your choice.
