Prerequsites: Elf or Half-Elf only.
Benefits: You are a practitioner of the ancient art of the bladesong.
- Increase your Dexterity, Intelligence, or Charisma by 1, to a maximum of 20.
- You learn a single cantrip from the sorcerer or wizard spell list. The cantrip must be one that deals acid, cold, fire, lightning, poison, or thunder damage.
- While wielding a weapon in one hand and no other weapon or shield in your off-hand, you gain the following benefits. You must also know the weapon's mastery.
- You have advantage on any Dexterity (Acrobatics) or Charisma (Performance) checks you make.
- If you possess the Extra Attack class feature, you can cast a cantrip in place of an attack with that feature.
- You can use your weapon as a spellcasting focus. If your weapon has a bonus to attack and damage rolls, it grants the same bonus to the spell attack and saving throw DCs of your spells.
- You can use your weapon to fulfill the verbal (the song it makes as it slices through the air) and somatic (the act of dancing with your weapon) components of your spells. This has no affect on game mechanics and is pure fluff, but represents the flavor of performing the bladesong. If you are silenced or have the paralyzed condition, for example, you are prevented from fulfilling those components as normal.
