Betty started her life as a Cleric of Hextor. She spent many years harnessing the magic from her God, training to be a better warrior, and learning to use magic from the best magicians through fear and intimidation. One day in the middle of battle she called upon Hextor to help defeat her enemies and was ignored. She led her clerics and warriors into battle by herself and still won, although only through a narrow victory. The warriors and clerics had heard her pleas for the help of Hextor during the battle and noticed they had gone unanswered. Since Betty sill managed to win the war without any help, they declared Betty to be truly greater than Hextor. Hextor who ignored them in battle heard of this rose up from the ashes and challenged them all, threatened to kill them for their blasphemy. Betty stood her ground and defeated Hextor, gaining his immortality, spark, and his worshipers.

Temples of Betty are large square buildings built from dark stones. Inside you will find clerics of Betty in their black robes with grey skulls. In every temple is a portal to Betty's castle in the 5th level of the Abyss guarded by a Balor named Bob. They're all called Bob because Betty doesn't care enough to learn their names. Occasionally you will be greeted by a Beholder Also inside the temple are two halls. One hall is dedicated to martial and magical training of clerics and priests. The other hall is dedicated to man's needs, drinking, and debauchery, beers, and broads. Besides each entrance to the Temple of Betty, you will also find 2 baskets. One is a donation basket for entry, the other contains wands of Create Water (20 charges) because Betty believes in hydration and hygiene. To be allowed to enter the Temple of Betty one has to pay a small fee. In the Temple, there is no form fighting allowed also Guards or royalty have no rank there and no say what happens. For this reason, it is common that people seek refuge in the Temple of Betty.

Betty's weapon is the Flail of Betty. It is a mythical flail. It has three heads and deals fire, lightning, and thunder damage. While Betty makes her home in the 5th level of the Abyss, she is one of few deities that roam the lands with humans. For many years, no other deities have taken issue with this, or are just not willing to go to war over it. If you win the favor of Betty, you might find yourself with the Mark of Betty. The mark of Betty is manifested as a faded small grey skull on your left calf. If you find yourself in great trouble, simply holding a weapon to it and asking for help will summon her to your side, or if she does not want to aid you personally, a Balor instructed to get you out of trouble. After a call of help, the mark disappears. Betty has formed fighting alliances with the likes of Orcus, Great Mother, and Prince Kardum to name but a few. Her home in the Abyss often satisfies her constant thirst for blood and power, as she is often fighting in the Blood Wars.

Clerics of Betty may cast both healing and damaging spells, and may both Turn and Rebuke the undead with no penalties.
