Barbaracle[edit]

From the waters rose not a fossil, but a form which defied its weak origins. Standing on its own two legs, it seeks to conquer land and sea.

Barbaracle is a bipedal Pokémon with a body that consists of two gray, porous rocks connected by an orange, segmented waist. It has four orange arms connected to the upper rock. Two of these arms stick out above where shoulders should be, while the main pair is pointed down like normal. Its head is brown and resembles a left fist, as there are four clawed fingers on top and a clawed thumb on its right cheek. Its face is orange with two eyes but no other distinguishable features like a mouth or nose. Each arm has a brown hand with a single eye in the center of the palm, four long claws, and a brown band around the middle. Its legs are also orange, but have two brown bands and brown feet with four claws and a four-pointed star on the soles.

History[edit]

Barbaracle are the result of when binacle evolved through multiplication. It is noted through records that once, many creatures of the sea were forced to move onto land in search of food. The binacle, which are barnacle creatures, are normally born in pairs of two. Two gain capability on land, the binacle multiply into seven heads out of two. Each of the limbs are completely tricked out with sensory and thought, but they all obey one main head, allowing for coordination. It is believed that barbaracle is one of the few Pokémon originating from the sea that properly adapted to land, as most others like armaldo and kabutops ended up extinct instead.

Society[edit]

Barbaracle are collectives in and of themselves, being composed of seven individual brains. In a pinch, the limbs can act on their own to overwhelm foes with unpredictable movement. It is somewhat rare for multiple barbaracle to come together, almost like two colonies meeting. But they have been seen monitoring beds of binacles and helping to cultivate their evolution by fending off predators and brushing clean seawater over them. Barbaracle are rarely seen too far from the coasts where they make their habitat and are known to roam coves and beaches in search of prey which they tear to pieces with their multitude of arms.

Barbaracle Names[edit]

Usually barbaracle names are a mix of Aquan and Terran, though many just take one one or the other. These names sometimes are in Common ad just relate to the coastal areas.
