Physical Description[edit]

An aromatisse Source

Aromatisse is a bipedal Pokémon with a humanoid limb arrangement. Its head and upper body are covered in fluffy purple down that is very soft. The neck is not visible through this fluffiness. The exact hue of this down varies between purple and pink. Around its lower body is an even fluffier mass of pink fur, resembling a skirt or dress. There is a black bow on its lower back. The entirety of its down smells strongly of perfume-like scents. It has a pale, blue-gray face with a small, curved beak that resembles a mask worn by plague doctors or a masquerade mask. Its eyes are black with red sclerae and pupils and flaring black lashes like overdone mascara makeup. It has two wavy, tufted ears with yellow centers on the sides of its head. Each of its hands has three yellow claws, and it has paw-like feet with three toes.

History[edit]

Aromatisse are the evolved form of spritzee, a bird-like pokemon known for bearing scent. In Kalos olden times, ladies of nobility would carry spritzee around with them in lieu of perfume since they smelled so strongly. This scent is enhanced when spritzee evolves into aromatisse. Aromatisse historically is seen as an elegant pokemon of the rich, dressed in fluffy, good-smelling furry feathery down. Like spritzee, aromatisse often accompanied cliques of upper-class women. However, the intense scents of aromatisse, as well as its appearance, was a bit less appealing for lower-class people, who saw the pokemon as a symbol of gaudiness and overdone decadence. Today, aromatisse does still have appeal as one of the fashion symbol pokemon of the Kalos region.

Society[edit]

Usually, aromatisse are found only living with humans. Spritzees, however, can be found living in nests in the wild. This is because aromatisse will often return to the wild to have their young. However, they do not usually nurture them beyond birth, usually leaving them to fend for themselves. Aromatisse create their spritzee nests out of their scented feathers, which contain the signatory scent of the mother. Baby spritzees are born into this scent and will immediately recognize their mother by scent if the two meet. It is worth noting that aromatisse's scents are much stronger than that of spritzee's and can be repugnant to people with sensitive noses. They are said to be able to concoct different scents to use in combat, whether to aid allies or debilitate enemies. People who spend too much time around an aromatisse may lose their sense of smell due to sensory overload from exposure to aromatisse's unrelenting smells.
