<-Arcane Brute->[edit]

<- **Strengths:** 1. **Versatility in Combat:** The Arcane Brute can adapt to various combat situations. Whether it's soaking up damage as a tank, delivering powerful melee strikes, or moving with agility to avoid attacks, they can fulfill different roles on the battlefield.

    • Weaknesses:**

1. **Limited Arcane Knowledge:** Arcane Brutes lack the extensive magical knowledge that other spellcasters possess. They are specialized in physical enhancements and might struggle with more complex magical problems or puzzles.

2. **Vulnerability to Disruption:** Since their magical abilities are focused on physical enhancements, Arcane Brutes can be vulnerable to spells or effects that disrupt or dispel magic. Without their magical enhancements, they lose a significant portion of their combat effectiveness.

Abilities: <-**Abilities: Strength and Constitution are paramount for an Arcane Brute, determining their offensive and defensive prowess through magical infusion. Charisma and Dexterity play lesser roles, making them less critical for this class.**->.

Races: <- The Arcane Brute class tends to attract individuals and races with a strong inclination towards physical prowess. Those who favor raw strength and endurance over finesse and magical finesse are more likely to find resonance with the Arcane Brute's approach.->.

Alignment: <- **Any**

The Arcane Brute class does not impose specific alignment restrictions. Individuals of various moral compasses and ethical inclinations can find their place within this class. The focus is on harnessing magical enhancements to physical abilities rather than adherence to a particular code of conduct.->.

Starting Gold: <-3d4 × 10 gp.->

Starting Age: <-**Starting Age: Simple**

The Arcane Brute class is designed to be easy to learn, making it accessible to a wide range of characters. However, mastering the intricate balance between physical prowess and magical enhancements requires dedication and experience, making it a challenging path for those seeking true expertise.->.

However, make sure to consult your Dungeon Master (DM) before adding any feat to your character to ensure compatibility with the campaign.

Level 20: +10 to Str, +10 to Con, natural armor bonus equal to Con modifier, +14 feet to base land speed.

Level 4: Evasive Instincts

Evasive Instincts: The Arcane Brute's instincts for self-preservation become heightened. Even when it isn't their turn, the Arcane Brute can make a Dexterity saving throw with a DC equal to the attacker's attack roll when targeted by a physical melee or ranged attack. On a successful save, the Arcane Brute takes no damage from the attack. This passive ability becomes even more honed with experience, and at 10th level, the Arcane Brute adds their proficiency bonus to the Dexterity saving throw.

Level 6: Last Stand

The Arcane Brute develops an almost supernatural resilience to pain and injury. When reduced to 0 hit points but not killed outright, the Arcane Brute can choose to remain conscious and continue fighting for one additional round before falling unconscious. During this round, they have advantage on attack rolls and saving throws. If they receive healing before the end of their next turn, they can stay conscious and continue fighting.

Level 1 Abilities[edit]

1. ***Arcane Strike***:

Arcane Brutes can augment unarmed strikes with a brief concentration, dealing an extra 1d6 on a damage roll for unarmed and close range weapon attacks.

2. ******:

3. ***Daunting Presence***:

Casting Time: 1 action Range: Self Components: V, S Duration: Concentration, up to 1 minute

The Arcane Brute channels their formidable presence, exuding an aura of intimidation. For the duration, creatures of your choice within 30 feet that can see you must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or become frightened until the spell ends. The DC for the saving throw is equal to 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Strength modifier.

While frightened by this spell, a creature's speed is halved, and it has disadvantage on ability checks and attack rolls while the source of its fear is within line of sight. The creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on a success.

...

Level 2 Abilities[edit]

1. **Arcane Shockwave**:

Arcane Shockwave: As an action, the Arcane Brute can unleash a powerful punch into the air, sending out a concentrated shockwave of force. The shockwave travels in a straight line, with a base range of 20 feet and width of 3 feet. Each creature in its path must make a Strength saving throw (DC 8 + Arcane Brute's proficiency bonus + Constitution modifier) or take 2d6 force damage. The damage increases to 3d6 at 9th level, 4d6 at 13th level, and 5d6 at 17th level. The damage is halved on a successful save. Additionally the damage dealt varies based on the distance.

3. **SoulBurst**:

2nd-level Evocation

Casting Time: 1 action Range: 30 feet Components: V, S Duration: Concentration, up to 1 minute

The Arcane Brute taps into the power of their soul to create a small, glowing ball of energy. They can hold this energy in their hand or release it as a thrown explosive.

Effect:

As an action, the Arcane Brute can throw the energy ball at a point within 30 feet. Upon impact or at any time before the end of the spell's duration, they can use a bonus action to command the ball to explode. The explosion deals 1d6 force damage in a 10-foot radius centered on the impact point. Creatures caught in the explosion can make a Dexterity saving throw (DC 8 + Arcane Brute's proficiency bonus + Strength modifier) for half damage. The damage of the explosion increases by 1d6 for each additional minute the Arcane Brute concentrates on the spell beyond the first, up to a maximum of 6d6 after 5 minutes. Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, the damage increases by 1d6 for each slot level above 2nd. ...

Level 3 Abilities[edit]

1. **Herculean Endurance**: The Arcane Brute taps into their inner strength, unlocking a surge of immense physical power. For the next hour, the Arcane Brute gains the extraordinary ability to carry and lift weight far beyond their normal limits. They can carry up to ten times their normal maximum load without suffering any penalties to their speed or checks related to carrying capacity.

This incredible feat of strength comes with a cost, however. After the effect ends, the Arcane Brute is physically drained, and their movement speed is halved for the next minute. Additionally, during this period, they have disadvantage on Strength-based ability checks and saving throws.

Level 4 Abilities[edit]

Origin[edit]

Origin of There Arcane Power:

The magic wielded by Arcane Brutes emerges from two distinct paths—perilous moments and grueling training.

Awakening through Peril:

In the face of imminent demise, Arcane Brutes experience a surge of latent magic as a survival instinct. This awakening often involves a profound encounter with the boundary between life and death.

Training and Concentration:

For those who opt for a disciplined approach, unlocking their magical potential requires relentless training and intense concentration. Pushing their bodies beyond normal limits and delving into deep meditative practices, they unravel the hidden reservoirs of magic within.

Inner Body and Soul Connection:

The core of Arcane Brutes' magic lies in an intimate connection with their inner body and soul. This intrinsic bond enables them to channel magical energy flowing through their veins and resonate with the essence of their being.

Strength and Constitution Catalysts:

Physical attributes, particularly Strength and Constitution, serve as catalysts for amplifying magical abilities. Strength is not just a measure of physical might but a key to unlocking and controlling magical potential within their muscles. Constitution, reflecting endurance and resilience, enables them to endure the strain of potent magical energies.

Weapon and Armor Proficiency:

Arcane Brutes excel in the art of battlefield dominance, mastering heavy and medium armor to withstand formidable attacks. Proficient in wielding heavy weapons and skilled in martial arts, they prioritize raw strength over finesse. Their preferred approach involves striking with brute force rather than relying on intricate techniques. While they are adept with a variety of armor for battlefield resilience, their true prowess lies in delivering powerful, unskilled strikes for maximum impact.
