An angler's kit includes all of the gear necessary to catch, clean, and cure fish: Chiefly a set of fishing tackle, but also two spare fishing lines, one net, one bucket, 30 pieces of fishing bait, and one flask's worth of salt. Proficiency with this kit lets you add your proficiency bonus to ability checks made to catch, clean, and cure fish.
