Description[edit]

Alteration is the ability to manipulate and transform materials and creatures. It is a passive skill.

Central Branch[edit]

Novice Alteration[edit]

Prerequisites None: Novice-level Alteration spells cost half as much Magicka to cast.

Alteration Dual Casting[edit]

Prerequisites Alteration lv 20, Novice Alteration:

Apprentice Alteration[edit]

Prerequisites Alteration lv 25, Novice Alteration: Apprentice Alteration spells cost half as much Magicka to cast.

Adept Alteration[edit]

Prerequisites Alteration lv 50, Apprentice Alteration: Adept Alteration spells cost half as much Magicka to cast.

Equivalent Exchange[edit]

Prerequisites Alteration lv 60, Adept Alteration: Bonus Action, turn 20 Stamina into 10 Magicka

Stability[edit]

Prerequisites Alteration lv 70, Adept Alteration: Alteration spells last 50% longer

Expert Alteration[edit]

Prerequisites Alteration lv 75, Adept Alteration: Expert Alteration spells cost half as much Magicka to cast.

Rank 1) Prerequisites Alteration lv 30, Apprentice Alteration: +1 to saves vs spell effects
Rank 2) Prerequisites Alteration lv 50, Magic Resistance Rank 1: +2 to saves vs spell effects
Rank 3) Prerequisites Alteration lv 70, Magic Resistance Rank 2: +3 to saves vs spell effects

Mage Armor[edit]

Rank 1) Prerequisites Alteration lv 40, Magic Resistance Rank 1: +1 Ac when affected by Alteration Armor spells and not wearing physical armor
Rank 2) Prerequisites Alteration lv 80, Mage Armor Rank 1: +2 Ac when affected by Alteration Armor spells and not wearing physical armor

Magicka Siphon[edit]

Prerequisites Alteration lv 50, Magic Resistance Rank 1: When you sucsessfully resist a hostile spell you regain Magicka equal to half that spell's casting cost

Adapted Hide[edit]

Rank 2) Prerequisites Alteration lv 60, Mage Armor Rank 1: When you cast an Alteration Armor spell on yourself you gain resistance to the next type of damage you take until the armor spell ends.

Magisterial Splendor[edit]

Prerequisites Alteration lv 100, Mage Armor Rank 2: While affected by an Alteration Armor spell you get Advantage to all saving throws and charisma skill checks

Manipulation Branch[edit]

Balance[edit]

Rank 1) Prerequisites Alteration lv 30, Apprentice Alteration: Alteration spells that affect carry weight are 5lb more effective
Rank 2) Prerequisites Alteration lv 40, Balance Rank 1: Alteration spells that affect carry weight are 10lb more effective
Rank 2) Prerequisites Alteration lv 50, Balance Rank 2: Alteration spells that affect carry weight are 15lb more effective

Hurl[edit]

Prerequisites Alteration lv 40, Balance: Using telekinesis one can launch a held object (costs 8 Magicka) causing it to deal 1d4 per 5lbs to target(s) hit by it

Giant's Arm[edit]

Prerequisites Alteration lv 50, Hurl: Using Hurl to hurt a target also launches them back 5ft per 2 damage dice dealt

Dexterous Manipulation[edit]

Prerequisites Alteration lv 60, Balance Rank 3: Telekinesis can perform actions that require fine and careful movements such as lockpicking or pickpocketing (disadvantage if more than 10ft from the lock)

Third Arm[edit]

Prerequisites Alteration lv 70, Dexterous Manipulation: You gain a magical 3rd arm which acts as a normal arm in all aspects save that it is incorporeal

Transformation Branch[edit]

Transformer[edit]

Prerequisites Alteration lv 30, Novice Alteration: You can undo any matter transforming alteration spells you cast within 1 hour of casting the spell [This takes a full action and requires that you be within sight of the affected target/object]

Formulaic Manipulation[edit]

Prerequisites Alteration lv 60, Transformer: Alteration spells that transform materials from one form to another effect double the normal amount of materials

Petrification[edit]

Prerequisites Alteration lv 70, Formulaic Manipulation: Paralysis produced through Alteration magic lasts twice as long and is 2 DC harder to resist, those killed while paralyzed transform into a hard stone

Transmutationist's Code[edit]

Prerequisites Alteration lv 70, Formulaic Manipulation: Alteration spells that transform materials from one form to another

Legendary[edit]

Once you have reached 100 Alteration you may choose to legendary the skill reducing it back to 20 and refunding all spent perk points (You cannot get new perk points for leveling up this tree again) doing this also unlocks one legendary perk [You can do this process more than once each time unlocking a new Legendary perk, however. Also, you must still meet all prerequisites for the legendary perk and spend a perk point to unlock it]

Alterationist's Wager[edit]

Prerequisites Alteration lv 100, Master Alteration, Legendary Perk: Once per day when casting a spell you may choose to roll a 1d6 on a 2-5 the spell acts as normal on a 6 your spell has doubled duration and effect (if applicable) however on a 1 you instead roll on the Wabbajack effect table
