8 Inch Nails (5e Equipment)

Wondrous item, very rare (requires attunement by a creature of evil alignment) A pair of large iron nails, slightly rusted. It's unclear if they are intended to be used as weapons, torture devices, or magical enhancements. As an action, you may make a melee attack towards a target within 5 feet of you, including yourself. You do not have to make an attack roll when targeting yourself. If successful, the target takes 2d20 piercing damage as you pound the nails into their eye sockets. While a creature has both nails in its eyes, it is blinded; whenever it makes a successful spell attack against a target, that target is pierced by several spectral nails and takes 1d20 piercing damage. The nails may only be removed by you, or the use of a Wish spell.
