|Cone of Slime (Su)||Once per day as a standard action, Epa can expel the psionically charged slime in her head in a 30-foot cone. This attack deals 20d6 points of damage. A successful DC 31 Reflex save halves the damage. In addition, any creature that takes damage from the spray takes a −2 penalty on its Will saves and is stunned for 1d4+1 rounds (DC 31 Fortitude save negates the stun). The psionic slime replenishes itself automatically in 24 hours. The save DCs are Constitution-based.|
|Constrict (Ex)||Epa has the ability to constrict her victim with a successful grapple check. When she constricts, her tentacle deals 1d8+24 points of damage.|
|Control Undead (Sp)||Once per day, Epa can gain control over an undead creature with 33 or less Hit Dice by making a successful touch attack against it. The undead creature receives no saving throw to resist this effect. The control lasts for 10 rounds. When the duration expires, the undead creature returns to its former allegiance, if any. The newly controlled undead can still be turned or rebuked as normal. This effect is otherwise identical to the control undead spell. This ability is in addition to the number of undead she can control using her animate dead ability.|
|Dazing Blow (Ex)||If Epa hits with a weapon or claw attack, the opponent must make a DC 50 Fortitude save or be dazed for 1 round. The save DC is Constitution-based.|
|Deathless Mastery (Ex)||Epa is immune to poison, sleep effects, paralysis, death effects, critical hits, ability drain, and energy drain, as well as damage to her physical ability scores (Str, Dex, and Con). She still ages normally.|
|Deathless Vigor (Ex)||Epa has a +4 bonus on Fortitude saves except against effects that also work on objects.|
|Earth Elemental Perfection|| Epa is a creature of the elemental type and the earth subtype. She does not need to eat, sleep, or breathe (though she must still rest to regain spells). She is immune to stunning, and critical hits. She has a +2 circumstance bonus on all Charisma-based skill and ability checks when interacting with creatures with the earth subtype and with other earth elemental savants.
Unlike a normal elemental, Epa retains a soul separate from her body. She can be raised from the dead as normal for a monstrous humanoid.
|Earth Elemental Specialty (Ex)||When Epa casts a spell that normally deals energy damage, its energy descriptor changes to acid, and it deals acid damage instead of its normal energy type.|
|Earth Glide (Ex)||Epa can glide through stone, dirt, or almost any other sort of earth except metal as easily as a fish swims through water. Its burrowing leaves behind no tunnel or hole, nor does it create any ripple or other signs of its presence. A move earth spell cast on an area containing her while she is burrowing flings her back 30 feet.|
|Earth Mastery (Ex)||Epa gains a +1 bonus on attack and damage rolls if both she and her foe are touching the ground. If an opponent is airborne or waterborne, she takes a –4 penalty on attack and damage rolls.|
|Evershifting Form|| Epa has the shapechanger subtype and is immune to any transmutation effect unless she's willing to accept it.
In addition, she no longer takes ability penalties for aging and is not subject to magical aging, though any aging penalties she already may have taken remain in place. Bonuses still accrue, and Epa still dies of old age when her time is up.
|Extended Abjuration (Ex)||The duration of abjuration spells cast by Epa are doubled, as if she had applied the Extend Spell feat to them (but without any change in level or casting time).|
|Extraordinary Wild Shape (Ex)||Epa gains the extraordinary special qualities of any form she assumes with wild shape.|
|Fast Wild Shape (Ex)||Epa can use her wild shape ability as a move action, rather than as a standard action.|

|Improved Grab (Ex)||To use this ability, Epa must hit a Large or smaller creature with her tentacle attack. She can then attempt to start a grapple as a free action without provoking attacks of opportunity. She has a +4 racial bonus on grapple checks made with her tentacle. If she wins the grapple check, she establishes a hold and can constrict.|
|Improved Wild Shape (Su)||Epa can assume humanoid, giant, monstrous humanoid, fey, vermin, aberration, plant, ooze, elemental, and dragon forms with wild shape of any size from Diminutive to Gargantuan, except Small.|
|Martial Arcanist (Ex)||Epa's sorcerer caster level is equal to her base attack bonus (33rd).|
|Push (Ex)||Epa can start a bull rush maneuver without provoking an attack of opportunity. The combat modifiers given in earth mastery, above, also apply to the Epa’s opposed Strength checks.|
|Regeneration (Ex)||All physical attacks deals nonlethal damage to Epa. If she loses a limb or body part, the lost portion regows in 2d4 minutes. She can reattach the severed member instantly by holding it to the stump. Note that combined with her tough as bone, this makes her immune to all physical damage—lethal and nonlethal.|
|Sentient Tentacle (Ex)||Epa's tentacle attacks of its own accord. She can direct it to attack certain targets, but the psionic nature of the tentacle enables it to flex and move in combat without hindering Epa's other combat abilities. She can attack another creature within 15 feet at no penalty when her tentacle has successfully grappled a creature.|
|Shifter's Speech (Ex)||Epa maintains her ability to speak normally (including verbal components of spells) regardless of the form she takes. Furthermore, she can communicate with other creatures of the same kind while in wild shape, as long as such creatures are normally capable of communicating with each other using natural methods.|
|Swift Abjuration (Ex)||Epa can cast abjuration spells up to 3rd level as a swift action, as if she had applied the Quicken Spell feat to them (but without any change in level).|
|Tough as Bone (Ex)||Epa is immune to disease, nonlethal damage, and stunning. Note that combined with her regeneration, this makes her immune to all physical damage—lethal and nonlethal.|

Additionally, the undead graft allows her to deliver horrible touch attacks. Epa can use this ability three times per day. She must declare that she is using this ability before making the attack roll; a failed attack roll still expends that use of the ability. Each time she makes a touch attack using this ability, she can select from any of the effects described below. The save DC for the her touch attacks is 39.
Deathless Master’s Touch: A living foe of up to Huge size hit by the Epa’s touch attack must succeed on a Fortitude save or die. A slain creature automatically animates 1 round later as a zombie and is under Epa’s control as if she had animated it. Undead created using this power do not count against Epa’s HD total for controlling undead.
Epa presented here had the following ability scores before racial adjustments, ability score increases, template adjustments, aging adjustments, and wish increases: Str 14, Dex 12, Con 13, Int 8, Wis 10, Cha 15.
Strategies and Tactics
Epa Brainbasher (EL 45): Deep beneath the surface realms lies Epa Brainbasher, undisputed ruler of an underground kingdom of trolls. Having once been enslaved, Epa has deep-seated hatred of mind flayers. She has waged wars that have destroyed two neighboring communities of illithilids—one of which was one where her former masters resided—and has caused other nearby residents who hadn't met a similar fate to either vacate or submit to her will. She is the embodiment of "that which does not kill you, makes you stronger (and stranger)."
