Biology[edit]

A adult Winter Wolf-Dragons grows about 16 feet long (not including the tail) and stands about 11 feet. It weighs around 1,000-1,500 pounds. A Winter Wolf-Dragon's ancient name is Lykos Boreal (Wolf of the North). Their fur and feathers are white. Their eyes are aqua color which is the same as their ice powers.

Alignment: Through most of the creature's life, they are labeled as True Natural. However, their alignment can change when an owner leaves them. They became Chaotic Evil until the day they die.

Crystal Flake A Winter Wolf-Dragon is born alive like a mammal. When born, there is a egg on their chest with a symbol on it. The egg is actually attached to the skin along with the black strip that grows around its neck. The parents use the back of the strip to pick them up in their mouth and carry them around. After five days, the egg breaks apart and falls off to show a crystal shaped hexagon with that same symbol in the center. As the Lykos Boreal grows older, the crystal grows 2 layers then extends from each tip. After it reaches adulthood, the crystal is the shape of a snowflake.

Lykos Boreal Aging
Pup Young Adult Mature Old Ancient
200-399 years 400-599 years 800 years-799 years 800-999 years 1,000-1,500 years

Command Seal Lykos Boreals used to not be able to be owned by anyone. Wild as they were; they were always depicted as creatures who helped other living things. The command seal came into place when a powerful CE wizard used the first existing Lykos Boreal to kill an entire village. The knowledge of the seal is only located in one scroll. With the use of the seal, the creature basically becomes the owner's familiar; or slave. The powers of the Lykos Boreal can be cut off any time the owner wishes and can even control the actions of its body. If the owner leaves without releasing the seal; the creature will go crazy.

Combat[edit]

Winter wolves typically hunt in packs. Their size, cunning, and formidable breath weapon allow them to hunt and kill creatures much larger than themselves. A pack usually circles an opponent, each wolf attacking in turn to exhaust it. If they’re in a hurry, they freeze their foes.

Breath Weapon (Su) 15-foot cone, once every 1d4 rounds, damage 4d6 cold, Reflex DC 16 half. The save DC is Constitution-based.

Freezing Bite (Su) A winter wolf deals an extra 1d6 points of cold damage every time it bites an opponent, as if its bite were a frost weapon.

SnowBall (Su) A conjured ball of ice and snow that is thrown at a single target. The snowball deals 1d6 points of cold damage per caster level (maximum 5d6). Close (25 ft + 5 ft./2 levels)

Ice Breath (Su) Freezes opponent for 1d6 rounds,-8 Dex for 2 rounds.

Ice-Walking (Su) Like Spider-Climb, except Winter Wolf-Dragons can use this as a free action.

Snowsight (Su) Ability to see to the normal limits of its vision even in whiteout conditions, and ignores all penalties due to snow glare and snow blindness.

Obscuring Snow (Sp) A swirling snow vapor arises around creature, and follows from that point on. The snow obscures all sight, including darkvision, beyond 5 feet. 5 ft away: attacks have a 20% miss chance. 6+ ft. 50% miss chance, and the attacker cannot use sight to locate the target. Cloud spread in 30 ft. -radius from you, 30 ft. high.

Wall of Ice (Sp) Conjure a 120 ft wide by 60ft tall wall of ice, can be used in a radius around the Winter Wolf-Dragon.

Aura of Ice (Sp) Conjure a 30 ft aura of ice radius that freezes all creatures within 30ft. (DC 10+ character/creature level+ Fortitude Save)

Ice Mastery (Ex) A ice-infused creature gains a +1 bonus on attack and damage rolls if both it and its opponent are touching snow/ice. If the opponent or the ice-infused creature is touching the ground, it takes a -4 penalty on attack and damage rolls. These modifiers CMB and CMD as well.

Trip (Ex) A Winter Wolf-Dragon that hits with a bite attack can attempt to trip the opponent (+8 check modifier) as a free action without making a touch attack or provoking an attack of opportunity. If the attempt fails, the opponent cannot react to trip the Winter Wolf-Dragon.

Elemental Body (Ex) Element-infused creatures' bodies gain some of the qualities of elementals. Each time an element-infused creature is exposed to a bleed, precision damage, poison, paralysis, sleep, or stunning effect, it has a 25% chance to avoid it.
