Way of Superior Speed[edit]

Monk Subclass Monks following the Way of Superior Speed train their legs, footwork and stamina day in and day out. Looking to hone the skills monks excel in, their agility and reflexes. Monks of this tradition often go on journeys, visit other monasteries and travel countries in order to grow. To a monk practicing the Way of Superior Speed, every day is leg day because these warriors empty their mind of all but one thought "I am Speed".

Ready for Action

When you take this tradition at 3rd level you can add your proficiency bonus to your initiative rolls. If you already do, double your proficiency bonus when making initiative rolls.

Blitzing Flurry

At 3rd level you gain the use of another bonus action during your first turn in combat. Also if you move 20 feet straight toward a creature and then hit them with a weapon attack on your turn they take extra damage of the same damage type equal to your martial arts dice and must make a Strength saving throw against your ki save DC or be pushed 10 feet in the direction you moved.

Fiery Footsteps

Starting at 6th level you can cast ashardalon's stride using 3 ki points. When cast this way it doesn't require concentration and lasts for it's full duration. You can cast this spell at a higher level costing 1 ki point per level of equivalent spell slot used when you reach certain levels in this class. At higher levels. Costing up to 4 ki points at 7th level, 5 ki points at 9th level, 6 ki points at 11th level, 7 ki points at 13th level, 8 ki points at 15th level and 9 ki points at 17th level.

Also at 6th level, Step of the Wind does not require ki.

Restless Running

At 11th level running has become so simple to you that you can do it as a form of rest. You do not get Exhaustion from traveling. Also when someone tries to hit you with an attack roll or forces you to make a Dexterity saving throw, you can use Step of the Wind as a reaction and letting you move on their turn.

Master of Movement

Beginning at 17th level you can now cast ashardalon's stride as part of Step of the Wind. Costing no extra ki points unless upcast, being 1 ki point per spell level above 3rd. For example a total of 5 ki points for an equivalent 8th level spell slot.

Also at 17th level you have learned how to move fast enough to partially enter the astral plane while moving. When you move 30 feet straight toward a creature or object you can move through that creature or object as if they were difficult terrain, but you take 1d10 force damage if you end your turn inside a creature or an object.
