Stub Logo.png This page is incomplete and/or lacking flavor. Reason: The resistance penetrating mode of Destructive Flurry doesn't really do anything, since you get Ki-Empowered Strikes at the same level. Missing SRD links. 12:02, 16 May 2025 (UTC)

Way of Destruction[edit]

Monk Subclass

These monks have tapped into the raw energy of destruction, enhancing their physical bodies and using energy blasts of destruction. This tradition is very rare and the monks of destruction are formidable warriors.

Destruction Blast

At 3rd level, whenever you hit a target with an unarmed strike, you may spend 2 ki points to blast the target with dark purple destruction energy. If you do, that target must make a Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, they take force damage equal to a number of rolls of your Martial Arts die equal to your proficiency bonus. Then if the target is reduced to 0 hit points, they completely disintegrate. On a successful save, they take half as much damage. If the target is an object, it has disadvantage on this save.

Destruction Fists

Starting at 3rd level, your Martial Arts die increases to 1d6. This increases to 1d8 at 5th level, 1d10 at 11th level, and 1d12 at 17th level. Additionally, you can choose for your unarmed strikes to deal force damage instead of the normal type.

Aura of Destruction

Starting at 6th level, you can destroy some things just by being near them. As an action, you can spend 2 ki points to activate your Aura of Destruction. While it’s active, whenever a ranged projectile or targeted spell comes within 10 feet of you, roll 2d10 + your monk level + your proficiency bonus, and reduce the damage of that projectile or spell by that amount. If the damage is reduced to 0 by this effect, the projectile or spell completely disintegrates. This stays active for 1 minute unless you deactivate it early or are knocked unconscious. The roll increases to 3d10 at 11th level, and 4d10 at 17th level.

Destructive Flurry

Starting at 6th level, your Flurry of Blows grants you 3 unarmed strikes instead of 2. This increases to 4 at 11th level, and 5 at 17th level. Additionally, your Flurry of Blows are more lethal. Choose a damage type: piercing, slashing, or bludgeoning. Your attacks made with your Flurry of Blows pierces through resistance to the chosen damage type, dealing normal damage as if the target didn't have resistance.

Annihilating Punches

Starting at 11th level, your unarmed strikes gain a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls. This is not cumulative with the bonus granted by magical items. Additionally, you can spend 1 ki point to grant advantage to attacks made with your Flurry of Blows until the end of your turn. Your Flurry of Blows attacks that have advantage ignore any disadvantage.

Improved Ki Features

Your energy of destruction is growing stronger. Starting at 11th level, whenever a target fails a saving throw against one of your Way of Destruction features, they take an additional 2d6 force damage.

In addition, whenever you kill a creature and have no ki left, you regain 2 ki points.

Master of Destruction

Starting at 17th level, you gain the following benefits:

  • You gain 20 special ki points. These additional ki points regenerate in a long rest, and can only be used for features in this subclass.
  • When you move towards a hostile creature, you can move an additional 20 feet.
  • Your Strength, Dexterity and Constitution scores all increase by 1, to a maximum of 21.
