Welcome to D&D Wiki![edit]

Welcome!

Hello For Valor, and welcome to D&D Wiki. I hope you have been enjoying this site, and I hope you have been finding the information here on D&D Wiki useful. I am an admin (and, actually, the owner as well) here on D&D Wiki along with a couple other people who make up "The Face" of D&D Wiki. Everything relating to admins can be found here.

Questions

If you have any question about D&D Wiki, D&D, formatting on D&D Wiki, what day today is, or whatever, an admin will, many times, give a good answer. Please feel free to ask any admin any question (ask me a question!).

Formatting

Formatting on D&D Wiki (or any wiki for that matter) can be very difficult, and if you need help a good place to start is Help:Editing on Wikipedia (or even their Introduction page). This will explain the basic wiki formatting and should provide quite a few useful links that explain more specific areas of wiki formatting. Again, if you have any questions about formatting on D&D Wiki please ask them as, I imagine, anybody will be more than happy to help you get them answered.

Community

A strong and welcoming community exists on D&D Wiki, and I am sure you will find it rather nice. Most discussions take place on content talk pages, however please feel free to walk into The Tavern (our local chat room) and talk to some fellow D&D Wikians. Anyway, on D&D Wiki, possibly since discussions are never deleted, people try to be nice. This means please follow Wikipedia's guidelines on Civility and Etiquette when discussing anything. Also, on a pretty different note, to ensure people know who posted what, please sign your name after a post with four tildes (~~~~) or by clicking on the signature icon. Signature icon.png This will automatically produce your name and the date. Anyway, I hope you come to love the close-knit D&D Wiki community and welcome again, you are now a D&D Wikian. --Green Dragon 15:58, 8 June 2009 (MDT)

Arcane Torrent[edit]

Saw your question on the Blood Elf's ability, and a thought occurred to me that might jive with what you're going for. Perhaps something like this?

Arcane Torrent (Su): Once per day as an immediate action, you can create an effect similar to Glove of Invulnerability, with the following exceptions; first, its Range changes to "Personal" with its Target changing to "You". Second, it lasts until the beginning of your next round. Third, it only blocks first level spells. The level of spells blocked rises by one for every three HD you possess past the first up to a maximum of level 9 spells. (Thus, 2nd level spells at level 4, 3rd level spells at level 7, 4th level spells at level 10, and so forth).

How's that? Hope it helps :-) --Ghostwheel 06:48, 13 July 2009 (MDT)

Oh, and if you want to do the "stealing" effect, add the following:

If a spell was prevented in this way, you gain an effect similar to that of a Rod of Absorption that lasts for 5 minutes. During that time, you may cast spells totaling up to the number of spell levels prevented by Arcane Torrent. For example, if Arcane Torrent stopped a level 7 spell, you may cast two level 3 and a level 1 spell, or a level 4 spell and a level 3 spell, or a level 5 spell and a level 2 spell. After five minutes end, the spell levels stored disappear and are unusable.

Perhaps something like that? --Ghostwheel 06:53, 13 July 2009 (MDT)

Just wanted to stop by and say thanks for the ideas on my various setting pages. I have left responses and defenses of my various decisions on all of the pages you commented on, you can take a look if you want and get back to me. :)--Vrail 02:18, 17 May 2010 (UTC)

Flame crusader?[edit]

Hello, For Valor.

Are you the author of the Flame Crusader prestige class? If so, there are some things i'd like to ask you.

Thanks -Thayer
