Physical Description

Shadow Tieflings are physically like their infernal kin. However, Shadow Tieflings are constantly surrounded in a magical, misty darkness, representing their corruption by the Shadowfell.

History

Shadow Tieflings were created when the infernal energies of the Abyss were first exposed to the pure negative energies of the Shadowfell. The breeding and combining of these energies created these abnormalities and anomalies within Tiefling society.

Society

Shadow Tieflings are often outcasts, preferring to live on their own rather than with other Tieflings.

Shadow Tiefling Racial Traits

Tieflings corrupted by the negative energies of the Shadowfell.
Ability Score Increase. Your Intelligence score increases by 2, your Wisdom score increases by 1, and your Dexterity score increases by 1.
Age. Shadow Tieflings reach adulthood at about age 20, and are ageless.
Alignment. Shadow Tieflings are almost always a degree of evil, but can sway to any chaotic alignment.
Size. Your size is Medium.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Darkvision. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
Shadowborn Energies. You have immunity to necrotic damage when in dim light or darkness, and resistance otherwise. However, you have vulnerability to radiant damage.
Shadow Aura. You are always treated as being in dim light unless under the effects of a magical light or when in darkness, and can take the Hide action as a bonus action as long as you are in darkness.
Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common, Infernal, and one extra language of your choice.
