Getting Hitched!

Just to let you guys know, I won't be posting for a bit. I'm getting married on the 7th! I'll be off on my honeymoon next week, enjoying sun and the beach here in Canada. --Aarnott 12:25, 3 July 2007 (MDT)

NPCs to DnD Wiki Format

I'm working on some php forms to be able to make NPCs in an easier way. The things is, certain things like cls and freq are really making it difficult. I'd like to hear what people think of what would be necessary for an NPC maker. --Aarnott 16:24, 1 May 2007 (MDT)

Hm... I think the more the merrier, however including everything is not vital. --Green Dragon 20:25, 1 May 2007 (MDT)
You can now try it out (probably still buggy though). Check it out here. Any comments would be greatly appreciated! --Aarnott 11:39, 3 May 2007 (MDT)
Looks good. You might want to put checkboxes in the pages before spells to specify whether or not the NPC/Creature casts spells. That way the user can skip unnecessary pages. Also, I didn't see an area for special ability descriptions and power points. —Sledged (talk) 12:15, 4 May 2007 (MDT)
I like this. However, on the first page, "Type" and "Initiative" are the same color rows. --Armond (talk/contribs) 12:32, 4 May 2007 (MDT)

I have a new version that I think is much more intuitive. Try it out here. --Aarnott 15:12, 8 August 2007 (MDT)

Wow, it looks good already. Btw, I have some ideas you may want to add to the task list:
  • An entry field for hit points (optional: random rolling and average as per LG rules)
  • Calculate the point buy cost once the attributes are set
  • Little buttons to increase / decrease numbers in number input fields
  • Automatic entry of the race type and size
  • Automatic calculation of total class level (including racial HD) and ECL (including LA), the second one is important for cohorts
  • field to add a template
  • racial paragon levels (most of them are OGL from UA)
  • Entry field for custom Craft, Knowledge and Profession. Also, some characters have several of these
  • color coding of class skills once a class is selected
  • entry fields for age, size, weight, eye color, hair color

This goes for anybody: you are allowed to add tasks to my Task List. I'll add these ones though. The idea is that the list will tell me what is missing and what can be improved. Then I can delegate to do what I'm in the mood for (an easy task or a tough but important one). I'm learning javascript right now, so a lot of the ideas you presented here will happen I suspect. I'm also thinking of creating a spell-maker after I changed the formatting on a lot of poorly made spells yesterday, I figure it would be helpful if at least they are created and categorized properly from the start. Thanks for taking a look though! Working with it for so long a lot of new features I wouldn't think of. --Aarnott 08:07, 14 August 2007 (MDT)
