Twilight Artificer[edit]

Niaran crept across the moonlit plains quietly toward the fires he saw in the distance. After a few minutes he could make out that the fires were coming from a forge in the middle of the field with a figure busily working on some sort of metallic plate. Niaran snuck closer up to see that the figure was dressed in robes that looked like the starlit sky. Nearby he could see an iron golem with similar patterns as the night sky woven into its metalic armor.

Nairan watched intently and saw the figure gesture and saw the stars of the night sky send energy down to power his creation. The moon in the sky brightened with energy.

Niaran slunk away. Who knows what untold power a wizard has that can call upon the stars themselves for power?

By spending long hours under the stars forging arms and armor, the Twilight Artificers have learned to tap in to the very essence of magic and combine it with the flames of their forge. Under the night sky, they can more efficiently forge metals and clay.

Class Features[edit]

All of the following are class features of the Twilight Artificer:

Weapon and Armour Proficiency: Twilight Artificers gain no proficiency with weapons or armour.

Spellcasting: When a Twilight Artificer becomes level 1, 3, or 5, the character gains new spells per day as if she had also gained a level in a single arcane spellcasting class she has. The Twilight Artificer does not, however, gain any other benefit a character of that class would have gained.

Crafting Caster Level: Twilight Artificer levels may be added to the character's previous arcane spellcasting class to determine the maximum caster level for crafting magic items.

Craft Construct: At 4th level, a Twilight Artificer gains Craft Construct as a bonus feat even if she does not meet the pre-requisites.

Lunar Efficiency: A Twilight Artificer has mastered the power granted from the moon, granting her the ability to reduce the gold cost on weapons, armor, and constructs by 5%, and the time taken to forge such items by 10%. These amounts are increased to 10% and 20% respectively at 3rd level. Crafting with this ability can only be done with an outdoor forge at night.

Twilight Imbuing: Through the power of the night sky, the Twilight Artificer can empower her creations to have the capability for greater power. Each time she creates a magic weapon, magic armor, or a construct, she may choose to increase the experience cost by 25%. If she does the creation is considered to have the Twilight Attunement property.

A creation with the Twilight Attunement property can gain a temporary bonus that lasts 2 weeks by performing a ritual under either a new moon (called the Star Ritual), or a full moon (called the Lunar Ritual). Only 4 creations may be affected per month (2 at each ritual).

Weapons:

Twilight Imbuing I

Twilight Imbuing II

  • Lunar Ritual: +2 extra bonus. • Star Ritual: +2 extra bonus. Armor/Shields:

Twilight Imbuing I

Twilight Imbuing II

Constructs:

Twilight Imbuing I

  • Lunar Ritual: +2 Strength per 10 strength the base construct has (max +6).
  • Star Ritual: +2 Damage Reduction, +1 Hit Dice per 3 Hit Dice the Construct has (max +4). If the Construct does not have damage reduction, it gains damage reduction 2/adamantine.

Twilight Imbuing II

  • Lunar Ritual: +4 Strength per 10 strength the base construct has (max +12).
  • Star Ritual: +5 Damage Reduction, +2 Hit Dice per 3 Hit Dice the Construct has (max +8). If the Construct does not have damage reduction, it gains damage reduction 5/adamantine.

Star Pool: Every time a Twilight Artificer gains experience, she unlocks some power from the stars. A Star Pool allows the Twilight Artificer to use points from it rather than spend experience points when crafting an item using Lunar Efficiency. A combination of experience points and points from the Star Pool may be used. When she gains this ability at 1st level, she is granted 100 points in her Star Pool. For every 50 experience points she gains, 1 point is added to her Star Pool. At 5th level, this amount increases to 2 points added per 50 experience points gained.
