this'll be cleaned up w/ better grammar soon Tracy is from Thay. At a young age she loved to build and create. She has followed Sune from a young age, due mostly to the influence of her mother. Her artistic talent manifested itself young. She ended up good at playing the harp and lute, and had a desire to pursue cosmetics (which worked well with her transmutation focus). Her parents were wealthy and enrolled her in a wizard school with a focus on transmutation at a young age so that she could continue practicing magic that aided her artistic talents. She did extremely well, and she soon manifested sorcerer talent (wiz 3). However, after a short time exploring her new skills (sor 1) she chose not to pursue the path of a sorcerer and instead continued as a wizard (till wiz 5)(partially due to the stigma associated with spontaneous casters in Thay). Her inborn talent allowed her to master spells and learn her trade faster than her classmates. As soon as she was able, she enrolled in the School of Transmutation.

Tracy's parents were hard people. Her relationship with her father was cold; her relationship with her mother was alright. Her mother and father never saw eye-to-eye: her mother worshipped Sune while her father worshipped Shar. Her mother taught her the principles of Sune from a young age. Her father was a typical (Transmuter) Red Wizard – cold, hard, uncaring, unforgiving, prone to fits of aggression. Through the years after Tracy was born, her father became increasingly distant from his family, his goal was pursuing power in Thay. He didn't care much for Tracy, and the feeling was mutual. However, he disappeared without a trace when she was about 20 years old, likely due to his wizardly rivalries. Her mother was cold, but kind to her. She is a powerful Red Wizard and was previously an instructor in the School of Divination. After Tracy's father died, her and her mother left Thay, as political enemies of her father began vying for his estate. Her father's political enemies blamed her mother for the death of her father – their argument was that she killed him to bump up her status.

Tracy left for Turmish with her mother when things got too rough. They settled in Alaghon, the capital of Turmish. Tracy's mother did not stay long, though, as she could not learn anything from the sages in Turmish. She left for the City of Brass, certain she would find work there (which she did). Tracy stayed in Turmish, continuing to follow the teachings of Sune, and soon becoming a Heartwarder (while also continuing her magical studies). Soon she surpassed much of the teaching available in Turmish (heartwarder to wiz 8). Since she was cut off from the resources available to her in Thay, she began again focusing on advancement of her sorcerous abilities (heartwarder to sor 2+). She left Turmish and began travelling west through the Sword Coast, joining up with an adventuring party (soon to come). During her adventures, she met her then to be future husband (and she gained the lovestruck feat).

Tracy left Waterdeep with a band of adventurers for a trip to the Underdark, tracking a convicted killer. The expedition was supposed to be a money-making venture. Tracy was hoping this mission would bring her enough money to purchase a place in Waterdeep to call home, a place to keep things and focus on her magical studies. However, things didn't turn out like she expected. During her travel, Tracy and her party rested in a cavern that was (unknown to them) infused with powerful dark magic. Upon awakening, Tracy discovered the rest of her party dead, transformed into horrible, mindless undead versions of their former selves. Tracy fled the cavern, stopping for breath at a small pool, and only then realizing her own horrible transformation (applied necropolitan template). She contemplated returning to Waterdeep and her love, but fear and shame at her new self had her choose a different end. She went back to the cavern, slew her now-undead companions, and took their equipment, using it to finance a place to learn about her new form in a quiet, unmolested corner of the Underdark.


  • Built with a standard 25-point buy.
  • CR is 14 instead of 15 because I feel this character is a "weak" level 15 character.
  • Flavour: practiced spellcaster (sorcerer) taken after 6 levels of sorcerer level upgrades...six levels is lots of “practice”. Taken eschew material components after restarting sorcerer studies at Heartwarder 1.
  • Removed “Spell Focus (Enchantment)” from prerequisites. No point having a prerequisite that is also gained as a class feature.
  • No familiar.
  • Uses the “Spellgifted” and “Specialized” traits from Unearthed Arcana (transmutation, craft wonderous item)
  • Uses custom flaw from, “Estranged”. See backstory. Flaw gained at 9th level.
  • Uses custom flaw, “Lovestruck”, from DnD wiki. Flaw gained at 15th level.
  • Used a Tome of Clear Thought at L12 to gain a +2 inherant bonus to Int (while at school in Thay)
