The Dangers of using Earth Tremor (DnD Story)

It was our first campaign, The Lost Mines of Phandelver. We were Fighting a Bugbear, Doppleganger, and its pet. We had a Rouge, Ranger, a Wizard, and me, another wizard. We also had a pet owlbear (Long story. Do not ask me about it). So, to help my allies, I cast Earth Tremor using a 2nd level spell slot. But for some reasons, all my allies failed the saving throw, and all my enemies-and owlbear- succeeded! I ask you...How in the blazes does a bugbear have good dexterity, and a halfling has horrible dexterity. We still managed to defeat them, but when our cleric and fighter returned, they refused to share treasure with me. All I wanted was a spell scroll. The moral of this story? Only use Earth Tremor when you're the only one of your adventuring party in the room-Or if you have a jerk who doesn't heal you in the room as well, or someone who doesn't do his role.
