Offensive[edit]

revise for less insulting purpouses, like really. its not even joke worthy and i kinda take offence. -- 24.22.64.226 - 05:31, 20 January 2010

It isn't really that insulting, dude. I have ADHD and I find this pretty funny. The joke is old, but not particularly offensive. Most players would be cool with it. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Flyingtarrasque (talkcontribs) 19:32, 10 January 2011. Please sign your posts.

ADD is not a flaw! It can add alertness.

Balance[edit]

Not extremely broken. Consider someone taking 20, on a search check. This would be nigh impossible with this feat. Any spell taking minutes would be extremely difficult, including most resurrection spells, control weather.

  • Barbarian: Broken, for sure. The barbarian has no class features or skills that require concentration. Anything it would affect is cross class.
  • Bards: Crippling. Songs cannot be maintained, illusions will fade more quickly, performing becomes difficult, professions are rendered useless, etc.
  • clerics: Spellcasting is crippled, at high levels, the cleric's gold abilities (resurrecting, creating undead) becomes increasingly difficult.
  • Druid: arguably, wild shape would fall under an action of more than four rounds. There goes combat. Long term spells suffer the same way as the cleric, would be interesting to see a max level druid/momf (with something like 20 wild shapes/day) switching from form to form rapidly.
  • fighter: limited loss, but it would suck having your front line fighter wandering off. (Wait for the army, and warn us... ooh a dandelion)
  • Monk: It would be pretty hard to stay lawful when so ADHD. Maintaining quivering palm is lost, I would rule, some skills the monk takes point in (such as spot, often) become difficult to take 20.
  • paladin: loses spellcasting, possilby maintaining auras of good, detecting evil, might be difficult to stay lawful good when so distracted. I don't think picking flowers while orcs slaughter the hostage counts as lawful good.
  • ranger: spells are lost, skills suffer, hiding in plain sight will NOT last a long period.
  • Rogues: Skills become nerfed: maintaining stealth is difficult, nulls many opportunities for sneak attacks, no more taking 20's for trap searching,
  • sorcerer and wizard: Say goodbye to the awesome spells that take time to cast. Spells of each level lose their potency: dancing lights, heroism, any shelter spell from Leomund to Mord's mansion, flying would be catastrophic if dismissed, shapechanges, teleportation might be affected, etc.

It's up to how the dm want's to rule what happens. this could actually, for most characters, be a devestating flaw. -- 74.89.189.177 - 23:30, 12 December 2010 (MST)

This version seems much better. However, the concentration skill is fairly class-specific in how often a character needs it. — saint23thomas – 00:19, 11 March 2011 (MST)
