Talk:Survivability Warlock (3.5e Optimized Character Build)

From D&D Wiki

Easy surviving warlock. a pixie warlock. because the pixie gets the same DR as Warlock (DR /Cold Iron), it stacks. plus the huge dexterity modifier, is a huge boon to AC, and with another huge boon to charisma, and already have a high charisma from spellcasting needs, your so loveable (or scary, whichever you like), no one will want to hit you, and because of AC and DR, a hit is extremely unlikely (even better, pixies get SR!) --Colona 12:03, 8 August 2008 (PST)

Except that pixies have something called a LEVEL ADJUSTMENT, and the vast majority of DMs will force RAW on that. --Ddragon Necrophades 22:16, 21 October 2008 (MDT)

Optimized Warlock not so optimal.[edit]

Taking advantage of the Fey Heritage feats would be better in the long run to make the most of the Warlocks' DR 5/cold iron. Once all the Fey Feats are in place, he/she then has a DR 11/cold iron at lvl 20.

He would also have a good assortment of spell like abilities he could use once daily, due to the Fey Feats. He/she would have access to confusion, dimension door, summon nature's ally, charm monster, deep slumber, and disguise self once a day each. This would be in addition to haveing a +1 to his DC's for all invocations and enchamntment spells (confusion, charm monster, deep slumber) as well as a +3 to his own Will saves vs Enchantments.

Once he spends a few gold on wands for healing, he's covered his biggest weakness, and enhanced his already impressive DR 11.

(Note: I think 5 Feats for that isn't really appropiate. With other Feats you could do more than that. I think for the purpose he was built he is a quite good optimization. I think, all you see is how to do more Optimized builts with leaving aside that you could build something with a meaning, for what purpose is there a Half-dragon-troll.....or better, let's all play dragons as player characters....I hope that this built won't be deleted just because some of you lost their senses....)

Alertness twice?[edit]

I fail to see the point of alertness in this build, especially when a familiar gives you alertness--Name Violation 16:52, 18 November 2009 (MST)
